New and don't know where to begin

Dear Warriors,
I am a web designer by profession and have built sales pages and optin forms for my clients, and they paid good amounts for it, which means they are making money out of it.

I went through google and all and tried to learn the tricks of the trade but i don't think i get it.

So as a beginner, where do you suggest i should start, how do i drive traffic, if i was to sell my own services as a web designer or a form designer and developer, how do i get leads, generate traffic and all.

I am looking to make a sustainable income on the side along with my core work web design and development work.

Products so far i have, an ebook, related to finance, a finance related program, that offers the following:

1. I build a landing/sales page
2. I offer 3 unique landing page designs that a client can choose from
3. I include the 100 digital cards so that the client can give them a link to the landing page, and their business summary
4. I charge a fee of $2,299 per client
5. I host the landing page for 90 days at no additional cost
6. I use that book I wrote for both content and as a tool for the client to put their offering summary together.

Challenge for me is, where do i get the traffic from? How would the whole system actually work etc. trying to venture into a new arena to see if something can work for me.

      That is a main question, but at the same time, where to begin is the bigger chunk, so if i say, i was a one man army, what steps should i take:
      Some logical steps i see would be as follows:
      1. create a page
      2. list the offer
      3. add the sales process
      4. advertise
      5. ???
      6. ???

      So if i REALLY need to make this a source of living, what do i do, and how?

  • Actually for getting those types of clients, the fastest way would probably be do to some good old fashioned networking and cold calling in your local area. You do not have to spend money on traffic, and it is easier to close a deal speaking to someone than a great sales page. I would recommend giving a free talk at a local chamber of commerce on how to increase sales using a good web funnel. No high pressure pitch, free information. You can hand out cards for a free evaluation or consultation etc. Not everyone likes the in person approach, but you probably will have better results faster.

    You have the main idea.

    1) Get a .com or an .info domain (I prefer NameCheap for buying domains)
    2) Get a HawkHost hosting account to host your blog / squeeze page - their pricing currently starts at less then 5 bucks a month for a starter account.
    3) Get either a Aweber or GetResponse trial account (I think both are currently free for the first 30 days).
    4. Drive traffic to your blog or squeeze page. Go to the all-in-one traffic thread here on the WF to learn about driving traffic.
    5. Build your list of potential clients. Build trust with them, perhaps by giving them a free sample of what you offer. Send them offers from time to time using your auto-responder (Aweber or GetResponse).

    At $2,299 per client, you have alot of room for error. Which means you could do paid advertising half-way correct, and STILL make a killing.

    Start with PPC advertising... Google Adwords and Bing Ads. I'm thinking Adwords would allow you to advertise on their platform with this market that you're targeting.

    There is so many ways to drive traffic to your web design business. Facebook is good. But also, Since you need to get in touch directly with your clients, I strongly suggest that you use a phone broadcasting service. You just send your voice message once to all your leads and only those who interested to your offer gets back to you. Like that you save time and money! I use sometime phone broadcasting and it works well.

      I agree with the phone broadcasting. There's a lot of companies that do this. It works for sure, pisses the hell off out of people but it does work. I used Message Communications, Inc. - The Most Advanced & Lowest Cost Voice Broadcasting Platform to do it, dirt cheap. I paid less than a penny a call to get the calls out, found a bunch of other sites that charge more (ibuzz, etc...) all charge 3+ cents.
