What is the best way to find authority sites in my niche?

Is there software or a website that can gather the data for me?

I would use the good old 'common sense' method called Google. Run a search on Google using your main theme. The engines have done the dirty work for you. Check the first page of results they bring up and begin to inspect each site on the first page of results.

One easy way is to search for popular products in Google that have been released in your niche. Take note of the sites that continually come up when you are doing searches. There you go. If you're doing this in order to find blogs to comment on, don't spam them. The sites with the most traffic are usually moderated. Make relevant comments. Use your real name (not like a keyword or something - will get caught by spam filter), and only put your url in the section for the website url.
