Default Co-Registration to Get More Subscribers...

I was just reading something by a pretty well know internet marketer and he was suggesting using co-registration to get more subscribers.

So basically as I understand it someone signs up for an offer and they get a list of additional offers with check boxes. If they like the look of what you're offerening they tick your checkbox and they're on your list.

E.G. Email leads - email marketing - GetResponse

I went over to Aweber who I use and they say:

"Co-registration services are not an approved method of generating new opt-in subscribers":

Why Are Co-Registration Leads Bad? :: AWeber Knowledge Base

Just wondering what people's thoughts are, if you use it succesfully, if it's worth doing?

Chris

Google ListCrew.

They are free, and they don't force subscribe anyone. Very reputable setup.

I have spent 2 hours on the phone with the owner, as we are looking for a "proper" co-reg company to work with. These guys are the real deal, and they do co-reg the PROPER way.

Kind Regards

It all depends on how you're doing it.

If you're paying someone else to handle it for you (a lead broker), it can be very risky. Three problems below:

1. No targeting
2. Expensive
3. Spammy

My best advice, is to cut out the middle man, and do the co registration yourself instead.
