Wordpress and Review Sites

If you wanted to create a review type site and wanted to use just wordpress, how would you deal with the problem of the main page "posts" vs pages within the site ? Wordpress lists posts on the main page and I guess you could just keep posting topics of interest about your subject that way and then have review of products on the inside actual static pages.

Anyone doing this or have any ideas ?

    ...you could just study a little bit the tool you are using; i.e. going into Settings > Reading and select a(n existing) Page as your frontpage.

    The feature you requested is there, just have to use it

    We do this for some of our clients. As The Pension Guy stated, you can create a page and then go to Settings -> Reading to select a page to use as the home instead of posts. This is a good way to build a brochure style web site.

    The website in my signature is a review site using wordpress and with no blog.

    Simply set up static pagesfrom the admin panel.

    go to settings
    Then go to reading and select staic page.
