You are writing in it: the Warrior Forum is a great place to sell your services (look for the "for hire" section or post in the ads section). Plus if you are into copywriting go with that, there's a lot more money to be made from copy. You can also launch a WSO offering your writing skills for books, for example.

All of those you can get started with $20 or less.

You might want to check out the program Writer Help Wanted (.com) by Ron Douglas and Alice Seba. It's all about making money from writing. More specifically, you learn about a number of sites that pay you to submit your content, as well as a current job listings by various companies to do writing-oriented tasks.

First off since we do not know that much about you. File for Un-employment, and spend the next couple of days or weeks looking for a Job. Do not get desperate looking to force your-self into copy writing. You be better off learning about copy writing by reading every sticky in the copy writing forum in your spare time. Than apply what you learn, than offer a service here or else where.

You may learn a valuable lesson why you are laid off, but if you don't have enough experience now
don't expect a Internship to magically appear.

Fiverr is a good place to start.

I also had some success with arbitraging SEO services from fiverr and selling on forums. It doesn't cost much and you can start right away.

Drewdude,

Many people come here because they are desperate for money and they "heard" somewhere that the Internet was the answer.

If you truly have what it takes to start your own business online I would still suggest you do as others have advised and find suitable local employment first. It will keep the wolves away from the door. You'll have rent and food money and a way to keep afloat at the same time you're working on starting a business.

Contrary to what you may have heard, online profits typically don't come quickly and they generally don't come to newbies without a lot of work and some experience in trying different things until something finally "clicks." Your chances of making a living wage right out of the gate are very, very slim.

I'm not trying to steer you away from creating an online income stream (business), I'm just advising you to get a job so that you have income first and then follow your passion for writing in your discretionary time. It will give you a chance to study, learn, and get your feet wet in online marketing without you stressing about how you're going to pay the rent.

None of these sites require you to at least own a website. If you want to make money online while spending a little bit of money... then at the very least you need a website.

But if you can't afford a website, start off with Fiverr and Ebay.

I'm the kind of guy where I can't really half ass things anyway. Income isn't as big of a concern for me right now as I live with my parents and the internships I am lookin for are unpaid for the most part.

I am taking this time to write and pursue various interests. I am also a screenwriter and actor. The thing is that my day job left me with very little time and energy to even pursue my interests. I wanted a career change which is why I was pursuing internships to get experience and a foot in the door.

With a copywriting internship, I would gain a portfolio which I could then leverage into some freelance work, which can prove to be fairly lucrative. Anywho, now I have the most valuable commodity of all: time!

You can create a portfolio for free If you target 501C non-profits, you might not get payed but it will get you a portfolio.

  A non-profit is very similar to a regular business, some have actual employees on payroll.
  
  My point was, there's non-profits that are basically just like you, they're just starting out & need help or they're established but they're not as productive as they would like to be, maybe they need volunteers.
  
  BTW, non-profits are in just about every town in the US. Do local searches on Google for either local non-profits or niches that you're interested in targeting, example, maybe you're interested in working with animal shelters:

  ...or maybe you're interested in working with something local & well known across the entire US, like Habitat for Humanity:

This is a fortunate situation for you to be in.

Let me ask you this... how have you been looking for an internship?

The most direct route to any destination is a straight line. Have you sought out dozens of successful copywriters and written a persuasive copy piece about yourself to get their attention?

Just go for it, and go big. Really put yourself out there. Like how you get most anything in life, getting this will be a result of creating an emotional connection with another human being. If your copy shows good potential at doing that, you will get someone's attention.

If you want to make money with writing. You can start at 2 sites:
1) Fiverr: this is easy place.

When start, look at other top seller profiles at writing category and learn from their profiles.

Provide the cheap service with high quality, example provide 700-800 words for $5. This is ridiculous price, but it will help you make sale fast. You do not forget to ask your buyers share their review and rating.

After have more than 10 reviews, you may reduce the length of article.

WHat I want to do is create a wordpress website. Specifically I want it to be a coupon site that gets automatic rss feeds from another company. I know there are plugins and things, however, I don't know if I need a plugin and a affiliate site like commission junction. I jjst dont know the process, can anyone help me out with how I could make this work. I already own the domain I want.....I have wordpress with godaddy.

I would start learning something that's hugely in demand. There's a dire shortage of programmers right now, and if you're on the WF then you might have the aptitude for that.

If not then there are all kinds of other careers that need people, just look on a job board like Reed or Indeed and see which jobs are being advertised most often in your local area.

And before you say you need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science etc. etc. I've worked in IT for 15 years and I'm entirely self-taught.
