Reading threads on the board i notice ppl talking about "cloaking" their links. I am going to design my first affiliate site sometime soon and i want to have someone briefly explain cloaking and if its something i need to worry about

cloaking can me 2 different things, you can cloak your affiliate links to smaller links or you can hide them all together when someone hovers their mouse over the link. In my opinion more and more people are learning about clickbank (people who don't do IM) and just shrug it off when they see it, if you were to use somthing like tinyurl then it would not show blahblah.clickbank.net on it it would show tinyurl4352345235.com or something similar, hope this answered your question.

Theres 2 types of cloaking, cloaking links so that others cant see your affilaite id and cloaking to increase your sites position in the serach engines. i did a video mentioning cloaking on my youtube chanel its on the "white hat vs black hat" video.

cloaking to prevent someone from replacing your name with their name. it look more professional if you cloak your affiliate link because some people will actually hate to see the affiliate link in their browser |
