Put 2 links in the resource box instead of just one, and put them at the start and end of the resource box, example:

*your link* is a great resource for people interested in dog training and obedience. You may also enjoy reading through the dog training blog which can be found at *your link*

Does a resource box like that give you 15%+ click through rate? I use a format as this

tired of not making money online? Learn an effective simple system that wil teach you how to make money guranteed by clicking here

I link the anchor word for a backlink and use click here for the click through at first i thought 8% was good but i hear people getting 20, 25% that is were I want to aim to be with my click throughs.

Vanquish:

One thing I've learned about getting better CTRs is that the way you write the article is pretty critical too. How strong a pre-sell you do, does your content naturally lead the reader to click in your resource box, do you tease him/her enough to almost ensure they click, etc. The resource box is just one element.

This sig under construction...

One way to make your content lead to the author resource box is don't write a conclusion. Then use a question as the first line of your author resource box to capture attention.

This is excellent advice that works very well to improve CTR. You need 2 elements to ensure higher CTR: strong call to action, benefit to the reader.

Example:
Are you sick of working to make someone else rich? You need to go to __________ right now (call to action). You'll get a simple blueprint that anyone can follow to replace your current income and enable you to work from home and enjoy more free time (benefits).

It doesn't have to be anything more elaborate than that. Call to action + at least one major benefit = more click-thrus. Simple as that.

Now, keep in mind that some niches will naturally have article readers who are more prone to clicking links in resource boxes than others. So instead of worrying about hitting a certain CTR, look to improve your CTR from wherever it is now. Don't shoot for 25% as a rule, in other words. In some niches, 10% CTR is fantastic. In others, 25% is average.

But in ALL cases, the basic method I outlined above works. Test, test, test! Can't stress that enough. The more people you can get to click to your site, the more sales you'll make (as long as your landing page converts nicely).

John

Here's the best way to increase the CTR in your resource box.

If your article is about article marketing, then with your last paragraph write something like:

"Using the above techniques, you can increase your CTR easily by 10%. In addition, you can also use social bookmarking services which can drive an insane amount of traffic to your articles."

Then in your resource box:

"Download the report "Using social bookmarking to promote articles" at http://www.alanchengisthebestghostwriteronline.com"

Write as if your resource box is the concluding part of your article. Don't make it look like a resource box.

Use the last paragraph of your article as a connector to your page. Don't leave a link, encourage them to click on the links to 'discover more hidden gems' in your resource box.

LURE.

One thing I teach my affiliates that increased their CTR significantly is - put one of your links inside the article, and the other one in the resource box

Naturally contextual links are better than standalone ones in the resourse box. If they fit the narrative seamlessly the readers will click on them without a second thought. However, the thing is that many directories do not allow links through the article body.
