Need Feedback on my Internet Marketing Magazine

I would like some Warrior Feedback on the Internet Marketing Magazine issue I am about to start sending to persons on my email list. I plan to send out new issues each month..

The link to the inaugural issue is at this link. Allow up to 20 seconds for the magazine to load as there is alot of content and images. The magazine is in PDF format.

I had to save the issue on my copy.com account and distribute via a public link because the file was too big for wordpress. Wish there was an easier way.

There are no affiliate links in the magazine. Right now it is mainly content and images.

Would also like to know if I should just put my own ads in the magazine or solicit ads from others.

    Yes, it's slow to upload the full images. Did you optimize your images before converting the document to PDF?

      No. Not sure how to optimize the issues. The original file was a Word file. So instead I just warn people that it takes up to 20 seconds to load.

        You need to compress your image files. Here's a backgrounder--

        You can do it in Photoshop if you have one. Otherwise, you can use this online image optimizer. You may want to hit Google and choose the free service you want. I took the first one I found searching for "optimize images for web" (no quotes) ---

        The optimized images can replace the existing ones on your doc. This should lessen the bandwidth use when viewers open up your file as well as the time to load.

    some time ago i saw a WSO for online magazine with flippable pages

      I would consider that if it would speed up downloads. What I have seen are free wordpress plugins that can embed a PDF right into a wordpress post and make the PDF flippable. I probably need to try that out.

        That would be a good idea if you have a good host. If your hosting is shared, that may not be the best idea.

        Right now it is very slow. My computer has 8 gigs of ram and a 2.7 GHZ processor and my computer froze while trying to access it

        You could try slideshare.net, Or possibly hosting it on Mediafire as their PDF hosting is pretty good.

        But the PDF flip button is my first choise. That way it will not load all of it at once and will increase usability.

    If it's too big for WP, you can still upload it to your own hosting and link to that. Just upload it via FTP to a folder you create.

    At 27 MB it's not likely to be a problem...and you can set up a download page where you tell people they can download it by right-clicking on the link and choosing "Save as..."

    Or you could compress it as a Zip file and have people download that way.

    It just depends on what your goal is with the magazine.
