Grandstar, Just head over to Google and type in "submit URL to [search engine name]" and follow the links from the search engine you want to submit to. For example, if you want to submit to Google, just type in "submit URL to Google" and follow the appropriate link. I hope this helps. ~Muhammad |

Sumbitting your site to the search engines is a rather useless thing to do, if you're doing decent- SEO work on your site it'll get indexed sooner or later. Also if won't give you any SEO boost if you're thinking to that direction. |

I disagree with your assertion that submitting to the search engines is "useless." I have had new sites of mine indexed within one week by submitting manually; and I have done this a couple of times. As for the "SEO boost," that would depend on a number of factors of which decent "SEO work" is just one of them. ~Muhammad | |

I have not submitted a site in many years. For me it's always been better for the SE's to find them, through links, more like some one else saying my site has something to offer, rather than me saying it. Just my one cent.

I agree with Ron, I know it is not rational, but I'm always afraid that Google will penalize my sites if I submit them. So, I don't. It might speed up the process, but I just will not do it. (My phobia I guess)

I've always worked with wordpress as either a blog or set it up to look more like a static site and then ping it and send it to digg or stumbleupon . Voila, spiders start crawling! Steve |
