If your at this 3 years your websites should be generating traffic from SEO
What type of lead magnets are you using.
How is your design on the pages.

It is really very sad news. I can't believe how its possible? You are trying about 2 to 3 years & spent more than $500. I think you walked in the wrong way. You should learn the way of earning more & more. I think you can write some Unique article for your site. Then you should do some SEO, Forum posting, relevant blog commenting, book marking & social media site to increase your site traffic & page rank. Then you can try again. I am sure, you will success in near future. Best of luck.

First thing first keep your money with yourself unless you decide a niche and business model.

You are already ahead of the game. Look at that $500 loss as $500 in education. Instead of trying to sell things I would setup a blog with Adsense and drive cheap traffic with Bing ads. I'm currently seeing success with this method. It's a cool strategy because I just have to focus on getting clicks daily.

In that 2-3 years, how long is the time well spent? Did you spend a "super" effort on developing your website, SEO, and traffic generation? Massive knowledge is useless when its not being used correctly. Have you also promoting the right product? There are many products in both Clickbank and Amazon that don't sell no matter what you do, unfortunately.

You know you are not the only one out there who hasn't made money online after 3 years...

I know plenty of people who haven't either.

So don't feel bad... it's just that there could be a few missing elements for you.

If you are doing affiliate marketing... and you are having to create your own sales pages etc... then the issue can be that the sales pages are not working because you are not getting the message across... and or the market you are targeting doesn't want what you have to offer.

There are always a lot of variables that you have to consider. So testing and tweaking pages is definitely a must.

Also you want to be looking at the commission percentages you are earning. Don't look at the ones where you are only getting 5% commission you want to be earning commissions that pay 50 - 90% and you are wanting to really leverage business models that get results.

I didn't make much at all when I started online in 2012 but I had no idea what I was doing.

But this year 2015 I discovered what the missing elements were and it has completely changed. So yes am making money now.

I think your problem is what you are selling - make money online products.
I earn every month without fail for 9 years in areas outside of the MMO niche.
I've dabbled in the MMO niche, but never had quite the same success because I was competing with so many others.

I think you should focus more on S.E.O. and not spend any more money on paid traffic until your site starts generating cash. In terms of a program to help you learn affiliate marketing, I recommend Affiloblueprint by Mark Ling. It's designed in such a way that you don't need to know how to do anything when you're getting started. It's also meant to be done over the course of several weeks, but you can go at your own pace and see results before that time.

It means that you are either following a model which does not work or you're messing up somewhere.

I know it can be hard following that business model. I had the same struggles and I kept struggling until I got a mentor. Hire a coach who will help you succeed. It can be expensive but it is worth it.

What were you offering your visitors for opting into your email list?

If you spent $500 on paid traffic then you probably had thousands of clicks on your ads, so im wondering why only 1 person joined your list from that.

If you are looking for fast success then probably that's exactly your problem. The fact is if you want to make a website that will rank on the search engines and therefore, receive free traffic. This takes time and effort, it's not an overnight process.

Besides, you have to provide useful content and build some good backlinks. But as I said this takes time! I think one of the issues is that people expect overnight results. As a result, they jump from one monetizing method to another and never really master none of them in the process.

If you want to succeed then stick to something and be patient. At least building websites and receiving organic traffic is slow. I don't know other marketing processes since this the one I've use. They may be faster or not. However, I bet everything takes a while to master.

You can't simply click one button on your screen and money starts appearing in your bank account. Many marketers might promise that but it's BS.

Sounds like your just spinning your tires. You need to stop what you're doing, evaluate what is not working and also what is working, and then take that knowledge as an educational experience and move on.

If you created a mailing list (I would hope so with 2 - 3 years invested) you could also create an ebook / service targeted toward this list and market to them.

Making money online is fairly simple, but making a lot of money online is more complex. I never personally walked in your shoes, so it not be fair to comment on why your not making any money.

I personally think you need to try offering a service on a freelance style website that already has the platform and traffic established and build your rank / reputation there. Seeing some earnings will give you a morale boost and up your confidence with making money online.

It looks like you are not seeing the opportunities. The neurotransmitter dopamine is responsible for us seeing opportunities and having motivation to do things. If people deplete their dopamine d2 receptors through excessive dopamine spikes such as through drug use, pornography use, excessive carbohydrate consumption, etc.. then they will be demotivated and not be able to see where to make profits. Sorry if this seems off topic, but people experiencing terminal failure in activities may need to look at other factors besides just marketing tactics.

You're going to fail more times than you succeed. I think you need an attitude change, if you can't take the blows then maybe internet marketing just isn't right for you.

You're definitely not alone there. Ignore the negative messages and just stay determined. There are plenty of success stories of people who failed for years before going on to achieve great things.

The best advice so far here is get a mentor or purchase some coaching services. Stop paying for traffic if you are not seeing results.

The first money I made as an affiliate was not the best way but it worked
The method:

I went to the directory of ezines which was a one investment of $197
I found a product on clickbank with a high gravity
I found a solo ad publisher in the directory
I used an email the clickbank vendor provided
Contacted the solo ad publisher and sent my ad copy with affiliate link
Publisher let me know the price $60 and the date of mailing.
Ad went out and within two days of that I made $300+ dollars

So minus the initial one-time investment of $197 and $60 for solo.
I made a profit just under $70
But now I knew it was real and that I should learn
how to capture those leads since that is what drove traffic and sales.

You need to test then optimize. Personally I would go and stick with the digital products just because they pay a much higher commission.

Find a product and know your product inside and out and make sure it delivers.

Create yourself your free gift which would consist of helping to solve a problem there on the spot for your prospect while leading them into your paid affiliate offer.

Create your landing page around your free gift. Send a little traffic because you always want to start small to test. Figure for a landing page I'm not happy till I get at least a 40% optin rate.

Now here's the biggest thing that nobody does and its how you can break out and move past others.

Optimize your funnel!

Everybody wants the cash and when it does not come they run somewhere else hoping to find it.

Stick with just one thing. It's not going anywhere and by separating yourself from the competition by proving that value you will steadily create commissions for yourself.

I cannot believe you spent $500 in adverts and not 1 sale, which tells me you have not been going about it the right way. Promoting Amazon products is a waste of my time in my opinion due to the small commission rate. You need to choose the clickbank products that have a high gravity meaning those are selling very well. Try advertising with Facebook Ads you will make some good money. If you want one on one coaching i recommend Anik Signal, try enrolling in one of his courses, he has training thousands of persons who have done well for themselves.
