Who here is having success with blog commenting?

I have had huge success with blog commenting but I think of it as more of a networking tool than a traffic generation tool.

Obviously spamming is 100% pointless and annoying. No, I set out to leave genuine helpful comments on articles in my niche regularly and really get to know the blogger who wrote the article, and allow them to get to know me. Eventually this escalates to email, guest posting, etc. Leveraging the hard work others used to build their audiences is one of the quickest ways to skyrocket your own growth.

Not to mention the fact that it builds a community on your site, leading to higher engagement, more search engine traffic from all the conversations, and leads that are already ready to buy from you because already like and trust you.

Actually I use multiple ways to increase my site trafic & page rank. I use Forum posting, Relevant Blog commenting, Article submission. I use all of these. I can see its good result also. I think these all together works good. Thanks

I've had decent success with it.

It all depends on the niche-specificity and AUTHORITY LEVEL of the blogs you post on.

You can't use a MASS COMMENTING strategy.

That's just spamming.

Rifle shots not shotgun blasts.

Also, you need to post REALLY SUBSTANTIVE COMMENTS to gain traction.

That's how it's done.

Call people out.

Engage them.

In other words, ADD VALUE.

Be a THOUGHT LEADER.

I have actually been able to make money from doing something like this. What I did was that I built a website that was about fitness.

It was an affiliate site and then what I would do to get traffic to this site was that I would comment on other blogs and on other forums and then I would comment under articles that were about fitness and such.

The result was that I was able to make some sales and I had a website that use to bring me in about $10 to $20 dollars a day. I was a lot of work, but until this day that site still brings in sales and I hardly do any work to it. It does work, but your comments should be thought out and not just spamming all over the place.

You mentioned work there and I think that's the key point. You have to put plenty of work into it to become a key Authority on it.

I do blog commenting and alot of it shows up in the search engine results. I comment on:

- Wordstream
- Aweber's blog
- Ezinearticles blog
- Unbounce blog
- Hubspot

You should try it. It's worthwhile, and the traffic is of good quality.

I get some nice targeted traffic from blog commenting, and it is something I outsource on a regular basis.

Use this search phrase (or a variation of it with your own desired keywords) in G0ogle :

Google search phrase example :

"weight loss" "Powered by Facebook Comments" "2015" -"comments closed"

Doing this, you will find lots of blogs, which have FB comments enabled to leave your own comments.

I'm guessing that when you comment for links, it's often very obvious that that's what you are doing. And when a blogger senses that you just want to use his site as a link drop, you're right, it's very tough to get approved. Damn near impossible on any of my sites.

On the other hand, if your comment shows that you actually read what you're commenting on and put some thought into it, it's much easier. On mine, even if you disagree with me about something, if you do it in a thoughtful, respectful way, you'll likely get approved. Controversy creates conversation, which creates engagement.

Of course, if the site you want to link to is unacceptable, you could comment perfectly and still not get approved. Both readers and spiders object to linking to "bad neighborhoods."

James McAllister is right - blog commenting is primarily about networking. I'm a very recent convert to this way of doing business, and after finally 'getting it', I just wish I had started much sooner.

Check out people like Adrienne Smith, Sue Ann Dunleavie, Ryan Biddulph, Matthew Woodward, Sherman Smith, Dan Ewah, Donna Merrill, Don Purdham and of course, James McAllister.

Final point: this is not something you should outsource. It's a core activity, and in my book core activities should never be outsourced.

I am also having success. Becuase it not only create backlinks but also increases exposure and friendships amongst the bloggers. You can also build connections.

Connections are so necessary in this world.

I'm sorry OP but I don't see what is hard about reading a blog post then commenting about what you read? Unless you just want to post your link without doing any reading about the blog post.

I have 3 people in my staff who are actively leaving blog comments for all my money sites.

There are 2 benefits:

1. More links which are relevant - obviously
2. A small increase in interested visitors which actually like the content you have on the site.

Also, these links stay live forever so the traffic builds over time through a one-time effort.

I am also doing blog commenting and get some good result from it. It will increase my blog traffic and also help me to get some good blog readers. The important thing in blog commenting is that you have made a thoughtful comment to the blog post which will add some extra value to it.

IMO you can find some success with blog commenting, but I think it's more of an add-on than single source . I think you should also consider other ways in addition to this.

I also coment them but it dont work for me as are they deleted for spam and i get less trafic .maybe i dont do it right i dont know .Instead i prefer to coment on youtube videos

A few years ago, you could get away with useless blog comments and the blog owner would not care who posts. He or she wanted to get engagement but today, many bloggers will read your comments BEFORE they approve you. If you post a lot, there is a chance that many of them bloggers will not even approve your comments.

Plus, I think it is a waste of time.

I have had success with blog commenting.

I think it comes down to three things.

First,

Realizing that you need to be knowledgeable in your topic--so you can actually write a quality comment about it.

Second, realizing that you need to actually take the time to really read the post, not just skim it.

And third, for me, I try to take one or two points from the post and expand on them.

Sure,

This takes longer, but, I would rather spend the time to write up a good comment that gets accepted and sends me traffic for a long time to come, than rush it, and have it not get accepted.

Blog commenting still works greatly if it is done in the right way. It is easy to get high PA backlinks from blogs by commenting. Don't create just spam comments, get involved with some blogs, comment there regularly. When you need refer your site, you will get valuable traffic from there.

It's more difficult nowadays with processes like Disqus and WP avatar verification, but I agree that it's important to make helpful and carefully thought-out blog comments. Spam doesn't help anyone.

Still, f your primary reason for doing so is to get backlinks make sure the site has is Follow enabled.

On Chrome, say, you go to the page that permits comments, right click on the page and select 'View Page Source' and then do a Find for 'follow. If the search only comes up with 'no-follows' then you may be helping the blog gain in popularity (nothing wrong with that), but you won't be adding any good backlinks to your own site.
