Good Idea for a Web Site

I can't find a website that offers this! I'm looking for a directory that catalogs non-invasive apps only. And by that, I mean apps that do not require access to a user's personal phone or device information.

I think if someone could publish that, they should see some success rather quickly. Today's privacy issues are carving out some interesting marketing opportunities, IMO, so I dunno...

I really wish this thing existed!

So if you can't find it . . . why don't you hire a developer and create it?

Be an entrepreneur. Take a small risk.

If you are right . . . that can be the answer to your income needs for a long time.

    Just do it! No excuses.

But I'm in the middle of doing something already! Lol (And I'm very committed to it...)

That's why I just put it out there.

Great to spot such a void in the market! Take immediate action to fill the void and capitalize on it. You're right people generally want items that do not involve nor intrude their personal details. If you can capitalize on this and make a difference, you'll be the next internet millionaire! All the best to your ingenious entrepreneurship idea and journey!

Just keep in mind you need to be a good editor because apps can be re-released and become invasive. That said, a well curated directory can be so helpful to users!

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

No kidding! Chrome drives me bananas, and IE has hooked up with Bing and a bunch of oem apps. Sometimes I think it would just be easier to set up an Avatar complete with blood type and fake DNA to take my place.

Good thinking on the apps. Wish it was for me, but I am already over the top. Am passing it on to someone who just might be interested.

        THANKS AGAIN, oh brilliant one.

My wife and I talked about this same thing and looked into what it would take to catalog every app available, list its required permissions, and make it searchable.

We gave up. There a couple APIs which can feed your database the apps in the marketplace but we couldn't find what we were wanting, detailed permissions.

It came down to having to manually review each app. Maybe someone else will have better luck at finding a solution than we did.

We don't install the apps which require intrusive permissions. Which leaves us searching through lots and lots of apps to find what we are needing. Frustrating
