Hello everyone, I'm sorry to be messaging this but I can honestly admit that I NEED help, not just advice, help.

I have a severe anxiety issue, I am having constant panic attacks at work, hyperventilating and all of the other awful s**t that comes with it.

It's hard to admit that as a grown man, I can't handle working anymore. I'm afraid I'm going to lose my job and after that, I don't know what I'll do. I have a wedding to pay for and don't want to let my spouse down as well.

I've been looking into affiliate marketing for quite a few months now and can't catch onto it. I have yet to make a dime. Literally a penny.

I know that sooner or later I will need to find a way to make an income from home, this will be the only way to control my anxiety and OCD. I've tried therapy and medication, nothing works. This is it for me.

If anyone has a suggestion please let me know. I'd be find with a direct message or a response to this post.

I'm practically begging here.

I'm not looking to make a million dollars a year. I'll be happy with an average yearly income. Please lend a hand if you can.

Thank you.

You need to talk to your spouse about this.

If my other half was having these issues I'd want to know - so I could help.

As for products as an affiliate - I'd think you'd be into doing some hard research into anxiety/panic attack products.

I feel your pain with the anxiety issues.. If you're serious about affiliate marketing you're going to need enough $ (1-2K) for expenses (web hosting, private forums, buying traffic, ect.) and about 6-12 months learning simple web coding, web design and learning how to track your stats. First step is the most crucial, which is deciding you want this enough to dedicate your life to affiliate marketing.

    • My spouse knows, and supports my decision.

I want to dedicate myself to Affiliate marketing. I have a subscription to a webhosting site, i have been looking into everything for a few months now, I just really can't wrap my head around everything.

I'm a hands-on learner and unfortunately have never been able to get very "hands on". I understand that 90% of affiliate marketers fail because they don't understand the whole process, like an article I read a while ago it says that affiliate marketing is like a puzzle, there are so many pieces to put together but you don't have a picture of your goal.

I'm very tech savvy, a great learner and very determined. I think I need a mentor but honestly can't afford it. Not sure what I should do.

If you have the resources, i'd hire a coach. There are many people here on the forum that will give you information free and paid.

If I were you I would start promoting free CPA offers from affiliate networks like MaxBounty and Peerfly. You will get paid and not actually have to sell anything, all you would have to do Is drive traffic to said offers (which is simple when you have money to invest).

            Hang in there brother...

Looking at your situation, I think you should hang on to your job until you have a real plan.

I know it sounds simple, but you need to find/create a product or service that people actually want before you start marketing (which is not so simple).

The only way you will succeed is through trial and error...

Wishing you luck though, as it seems you could use some at the moment.

            • It'd be so much easier with a friend, mentor, colleague, someone that generally cares and wants to help others. Trust me, if I were in a position to help others like myself, I'd do it in a heartbeat. If anyone has any recommendation, please. I don't want to give up, I've already put time and money into this. I made a promise to myself.

Good place to start as the results can be quick which can give you a great psychological boost, but I think you need guidance and support from someone or a good private forum.

    • It was once strong, I felt like achieving my dream was a strong possibility. Now I feel like I'll suffer with my condition for the rest of my life, I'm not asking to become a millionaire, I'd just like a chance to make a living/average income while being comfortable and not anxious and having panic attacks. I've spent a couple hundred dollars in affiliate marketing already, I know I haven't made any money because I don't know enough and in order to find out all that I need to know, "gurus" want thousands.. I don't have the money to do that, I've been scammed once already.

Listen to me and listen well, otherwise you're gonna screw yourself and your spouse. You need a reality check, and I'm gonna give it to you.

You will not be able to sustain yourself and your wife on affiliate marketing. It's not gonna happen. If you can't afford to hire a coach, you sure as hell can't afford to set up a business...which is what you'd be doing.

DO NOT quit your job and DO NOT get fired. You need it.

DO NOT listen to anyone who tells you to keep the faith, hire a coach, find a mentor, or any other nonsense.

THINK OBJECTIVELY AND RATIONALLY. I'm sure that your job IS NOT THAT BAD if you are really honest with yourself. Plus, you obviously need it.

It sounds like your upcoming wedding is more of a source of stress for you than your job is.

You probably won't listen to me, even though I'm giving you the best advice that you can follow. Because hey, I'm not sweet talking you and giving you hippy dippy feel good vibes.

But mark my words, if you lose your job and think you'll be able to support a family on internet marketing: you're dead wrong.

TL-DR: DON'T QUIT YOUR JOB. FORGET ABOUT WORKING FROM HOME. ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS.

Jill makes some good points. The issues you are having (as bad as they might seem) are actually a niche, so if you explored it, you'd not only be helping yourself and other people in your position but making money as well. It's like a win-win-win. As for the overall concept, I like explain it to people in terms of it being like a commission-based job.

For example, a car salesman doesn't own the cars he sells, but he earns a commission for every one that he sells. The owner likes this because he sales people are being put in a database, many of which will become buyers down the line (if they have an enjoyable experience, that is). This is very basic, but I hope you get the idea.

Hang in there man, Affiliate marketing can be confusing if you don't know what you're doing. Since you don't have money, I'll recommend a free method to start making money. CPA+ Yahoo answers. Yahoo answers will never fail to get you traffic. Just do your research on getting traffic via yahoo answers.

I'm not sure how you ever came to this conclusion; life actually works in the exact opposite manner. Control your mind, and only then you can explore self-employment. In the mean time, look into cognitive behavioral therapy; it works!

    1. If you think that making money from home will solve your anxiety, then you have a very wrong outlook over life. I don't know what triggers it but a worry will just be replaced by other. It can be the worry of paying the rent or it can be the worry of paying for your private plane. Worry will always exists since the more we advance, the more we raise our standards.

    2. Usually when I hear people say that they've tried therapy and medication, they haven't either stuck with it or they haven't took it seriously enough. Yes, I know, I'm an asshole but I'm giving you a pragmatic solution. If medication, even heavy class like lithium does not work then take up exercising.

Want some real advice? Get yourself together. Fix your OCD and anxiety from the INSIDE as these things are never solved by exterior circumstances. You'll just replace one horror with another. Then start earning money. Clarify things in your mind. You have a job. Loving yourself comes BEFORE loving your wife so putting yourself to an early grave just to pay for the wedding is not even sacrifice, it is low self-esteem.

Finally I found a way to get out of that nightmare life. The answer is yoga. Be friend to my body, and listen to my body. I wish it could help you.

If you're looking to find a source of income that will be easier on your anxiety, Affiliate Marketing surely isn't it. I think your inexperience and lack of knowledge about what a true Internet Marketing business actually entails is blinding you.

I don't think it's your fault, though. Given all of the ridiculous claims about how easy it is to make money with an internet business, it's no wonder so many people think it's a walk in the park.

I would actually go as far as to say that an Internet Marketing business is probably one of the absolute worst businesses for someone who has problems with anxiety. Trust me, you would constantly be worrying about all of the dozens of intricate aspects of this business that could backfire at any moment.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm simply trying to help. I don't think it would be fair to you or your family for me to sit here and tell you that it's a good idea to quit your job and pursue Affiliate Marketing. Maybe some people are content to let you believe the hype, but I'm not one of them.

This business is HARD, period. It took me close to 4 years before I was making enough money to be able to walk away from my "real" job. And I didn't work an hour a day, either. More like 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Succeeding in this business takes massive amounts of time, dedication, and hard work.

I am not saying that you should toss your dream away. What you should do is KEEP YOUR JOB and begin to work on your internet business in your spare time. If you do not have the capital to lay out money for a mentor, then this is the only logical way to do it.

I have dealt with anxiety issues and PTSD myself. I know it sucks and I know you are suffering. If you have access to care and mental health resources, you should take full advantage of that. I found the help I needed, and you can and will too. I know you feel hopeless, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you the best no matter what decision you make.

I was in and out of hospital this entire year. Only now am I getting better and feeling SO much more positive about life...Let me tell you something. Every doctor told em it was anxiety. That the anxiety lead to spontaneous panic attacks. I ended up in hospital twice because I thought I was having a heart attack..Do you know that I refused to just take pills and "put on a band aid" to "fix" my anxiety...I kept searching for an answer...Do you want to know what it was??

      H Pylori...

A common baterial infection found in the human gut..In my case however it had gotten out of control. It ate at my stomach lining and resulted in excess acid in the rest of my body as well as stomach ulcers. Now, did you know that scientists are starting to realise that many many mental issues, anxiety, depression etc is almost directly related to your gut? When your gut has a virus or bacteria for a long period of time it starts to affect your mind, you feel jittery and constantly stressed.

Look, im not saying you have the same thing but I AM saying that I wouldnt just believe the doctors for everything they say. Get blood work done. Check for Candida, H Pylori, Gluten and all the other common and less common causes.

Best of luck. Get your mind right before doing anything else bud

        Hey Mission,
Sincerely, sorry for what you are going thru. I would really take care of the health issues, number 1.

You cannot expect to be prosperous with any job or affiliate marketing with what you are dealing with.

Panic attacks and Clinical OCD is not anything to mess with.

Really sounds like you need to look into some medical help from medical professionals. I know you said you have tried but many times it takes a while for someone to find the right one or the right fit in the medical realm/ community that will help their condition.

So do not give up looking !!

Get your Mind working right. Everything else is dependent on that, really

        Best of luck

I know all about anxiety. I wish you the best of luck. One piece of advice that I can offer you is that if you're having financial issues then starting an online business at this time might not do anything for you except increase your anxiety.

Free methods exist but take months and months to show any return on the time you'll invest. I wouldn't advise anyone who does not have at least a small amount of money to invest to get started under stress and in your situation. It could end up hurting more than helping.
