Virtual Assistant/ Online Marketer/ Data Entry Beginner

Hi guys,

Need your advise. I had an interview few weeks ago for virtual assistant job, but I ain't sure I'll get the job, since I have no experienced working as virtual assistant or even as data entry staff. I've been in corporate world for 3 years as HR Officer and just last month after I got married with a pro web/graphic designer and developer, I decided to embrace the online world and to apply for an online job where I can still apply my administrative skills.

I would like to know how to start, since lots of companies are looking for applicant with experience, competition is really tough. Anyone who can give me an opportunity or ideas to learn virtual assistance, email marketing, social Media management job, blogging or any other online job. etc. I'm very willing to learn. I really want to start things right.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I work with this, but started in office. It's difficult to start without experience that you can obtain only working with people face to face.

Get yourself set up at Upwork.com and start applying for work.

One application in a few weeks? Get used to several dozen a day if you're really serious about finding work.

      Best of success!

Can I make a suggestion, draw yourself up a resume of everything you have experience with like
    telephone support,
    Excel expertise,
    Data entry,
    Online search experience
    Sales management,
    Office software expertise, databases, powerpoint...
etc.. those are just a few things off the top of my head. You get the picture.
I believe that some Virtual Assistants also have sub niches of specific skillsets groupings as well.

Have a look around on the internet you will see sites of small companies that specialise in this area and they have specific packages for a range of businesses and individuals. I think I saw one for marketers.

Then when you've done that put some of it into a well crafted profile for some of the online work sites like the one the above poster suggested. I think this is probably the best way to get experience from the ground up and to develop testimonials that you can take elsewhere; should you wish to go to another platform. Even to put up on your own website.

Hope that helps and best wishes in your endeavours.

The best way to get more gigs is to get experience, one of the most wide open fields is wordpress, there are tons of people out there that would pay a nominal fee for someone they could trust to update and manage a wordpress website.

    Develop skills,

    Editing, typing, posting,

Even if you do not have a programming skills, you can start out with the basics and build on your level of experience, the more you learn the better off you will be.

What ever you do, Don't take a job that your are not 100 percent sure you can do.

Some people take a job just to get it, but they don't really know how to do that job so they usually end up making mistakes and that can do a lot of harm to your business, word of mouth is a powerful reference.
