[NEWBIE] Need help starting my idea - $500 to play with

Great question, i like to start of as what sort of niche will you be in. Best to build a blog or website or even a squeeze page (landing page) and drive targeted traffic through and build you email list.

YOU MUST OF HEARD, THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST.

Whether you are going to become an affiliate marketer or selling some sort of a product or service, the best proven way to promote is to build a email list and build some sort of a relationship.

There is something i called KLT,

K= Know
L= Like
T= Trust

If you can get someone in your niche to know you, like you and trust you then selling or promoting a product will become much easier.

Why not offer your graphics design services to marketers and website owners? Many (or most) don't have those skills and they hire people to do the work.

My advice is to pause. Temporarily.

Just about all newcomers into IM don't investigate, and are not aware of, the various IM business models.

Educate yourself first. This is the single most important thing you should do before leaping onto anything.

Why? Well, because the various models return HUGELY different income levels.

Unfortunately I know this from first hand experience, having spent well over a decade working hard on many different approaches. My 'success' was only sporadic and only very moderate (until a couple of years ago).

What happens with newcomers is that they simply 'fall' into what they first read, about the affiliate marketing model, or the display advertising model, or the domain 'realtor' model. Don't feel bad about nearly 'falling' into something, it's very common even today amongst those who have been in IM a long time.

Newbies most often 'find' themselves in a business model without consciously having selected it. Unknown to them, that then severely limits or expands their possible future income. (For me it was the difference between working endless months without earning a cent, and earning 6 figures a month).

Make yourself aware of the different possibilities. Otherwise your are walking 'blind' into IM. You'll be playing a game of random chance rather than deliberate selection.

It was, eventually, switching to the ecommerce business model that completely changed my own IM game. For you it may be something else, but consciously select having investigated first.

Make sure to have upsells so you earn more than $5. This can get you easy money and possibly long term clients to do design work for and then you'll have more to invest in your internet marketing.

You should create an offline campaign targeted to small local businesses in your area who doesn't have a website. Then offer to create them a website and graphics (along with how to do simple email marketing), and charge them a high fee for it.

As a graphics designer, Fiverr would be a great place to get an account and start trying to find some work.

Also, all the freelancer sites are great for someone who has the skills.

Don't feel the need to become an Internet Marketer from the get-go.

And I agree with previous posts, the $500 is not just something to be "played with". You can use that as an investment in some education into topics that may be pertinent to your experiences.

There are so many options within IM that you can spend your time just exploring them without really making money with them.

But to begin with, Fiverr, Upwork, Elance. Find some work. Do it. Make money.

Post some tshirt designs on teespring and in the spreadshirt marketplace. You get paid for the quality work you put out, the Fiverr art cant compete with you there.

Make a blog giving some design tips and tutorials. Record some youtube videos doing tutorials, and then put together a course on learning photoshop or your expertise.

Maybe add a job board on your blog for designers and post some ads.
Once your blog is up create an Amazon account and then you can sell art stuff: Drawing tablets, pens, trackball mice, sketch pads, pens, paper, colored pencils, markers, art software, art books, etc etc etc.

I think this is a nice business and it will be almost free to do all of these things, they only require your skills and a cheap domain name and cheap hosting. it will take time to grow but you could have something nice in a few years and invest almost $0, just your time

as a designer i advise you to start create t-shirts why because peoples need t-shirts and look for new style (personal style)

Hi Fadinho, thanks for asking. Well, initially you can start freelancing job. Use Peopleperhour or Freelancer instead Upwork (a bit hard now-a-days) or Fiverr (Full of crap). In the mean time, use your own facebook page & website (should contains your portfolio). Start both online & offline marketing. Best of luck.

2. Organize Graphic Design Staff.
3. Target IM Community.
4. Low Initial Prices.
5. Setup a WSO.
6. Setup Similar Elsewhere.
7. Build Portfolio.
8. Garner Testimonials.
9. Raise Prices Just Below Competition.

There will always be a demand for high quality graphic work in IM, and the demand will always be great. The trick is to penetrate the market, build your reputation, streamline operations, manage a reliable and exemplary staff of designers, foster the growth of a client portfolio who regularly require your services or, at the very least, return when they need you.

the best way to approach this is going in it for yourself,
setup your own web design operation that you could market to others
web design isnt a basic skill, so you can bet people will pay good money for your services

be prepared to study some marketing content too,because your going to develop a strategy if your going to make it work properly

No need to invest money just use your skills and time wisely. Better not to pause instead start quickly and enhance your skills. Go into freelancing and seek for sites where you can showcase your talent in graphic design. But you have to build a good portfolio beforehand.

Some simple fast cash where you would not have to worry about traffic and marketing is offering your services on fiverr. Don't let the name full you and make sure to keep and open mind. As a level 2 seller you can earn up to $4,300 per gig. Most good sellers average around 15 to 25 dollars per order.

Fiverr will help you get a little experience as well. Schedule you time wisely and that business should take you no more an hour per day max to complete.

You can also offer your services via your own landing page maybe giving away some good valuable insight for your potential prospect. Once they join your list you can keep in contact and offering additional paid services.

What cool about Fiverr as well is don't be affraid to ask your customers to write you a review for your services outside of Fiverr. Careful though and do it from within delivering your gig in your material.

But i am want to tell you a story about me, I hope this will surely help you. I dont have degree in Graphic Design, but i am a good Graphic Designer and Earning Full time from Internet. I am not doing this job for the short time period, but i am searching possibility to do this job for the life time.
I did my degree in Mechanical Engineering and lost interest in job when i came across warrior forum. Because i am from India and in India 1500$ a month is consider very good earning. I found this possible with graphics design and start to work hard by watching youtube training video on photoshop and illustator. Finally i found a designer in me and i skip the job and earning full time on internet. So why you are looking to develop a new skill in you. You are a Graphics designer, use your skill to make money. Side by Side learn Animation or other softwares which can pay you good amount.

Start doing research by yourself on something you may be interested in. Start implementing what you learn immediately. There's no better lesson than your own experience. Leanr and test. Learn and test. You'll find your way.

Did you completed your study on the Graphics design? Why you do not start with Freelancing market place? You can use the 99designs.com or, upwork, vworker or some other site like these. It is a great chance for you to earn a good amount of money without any investment. Carry on & best of luck.
