How to Sell the Content from My Blogs

Question for you all...

What would be the best way to sell all of the content from two blogs - (1) my Baby Boomers Get Online (ksmusselman.com) and (2) my Party Ideas (partyideasbuzz.com) blogs?

Blog #1 has 205 posts; Blog #2 has 93 posts.

My husband and I are in the beginning steps of pursuing my lifelong dream - real estate investing - so I need to have complete and total focus on that now.

Should I package each blog's content up into one massive PLR pack?

I'm just not sure how to go about it. I can't sell my one domain name because it's MY real name. But I can unload the content.

On the other blog, partyideasbuzz.com, that domain expires soon but I don't want to renew it.

What are your suggestions?

Since the content is already indexed in Google (I presume it is..) then you can't sell it as unique because anyone else that would put it up would have duplicate content issues.. So yeah, a PLR pack is probably the only way to go although I think that you could earn more by selling the whole sites (haven't looked at them..).

Correct. It wouldn't be "unique" content, however, it would also not be a "duplicate content" issue unless someone put two identical posts on their same blog.

I'm not sure how to sell the whole site though because I don't want anyone else to use the 'ksmusselman dot com' domain. Our new business site will have a different domain name completely but ksmusselman is still my name.

I guess I could sell the whole site but without the domain name, right? i.e., sell the database? Is that possible?

Do you have any suggestions for a price for the PLR packs? Each post/article is at least 450 words, some much longer.

      Thanks!

        UPDATE:

I just made a royalty deal with a reputable indie book publisher. He's going to turn my ksmusselman blog into a book! I don't have to do anything but collect royalties as it sells.

One blog down, one to go!

Just copy the whole site with some backup software (I use WP Backup Creator) and install it on a new domain. It's pretty easy and straightforward and can be done in just a few minutes. (Your theme and everything else will be transferred to the new site. Then you'll just need to go in and modify anything related to the old domain.)

That's what my publisher is doing now. He's just going to extract the content that he needs to make the book.

He's doing the same thing on my other blog too, so that's a big load off my mind!

The last two days I've been unsubscribing from all of the network and affiliate marketing lists I've been on for way too long; deleted my two Facebook fan pages, Twitter and paper.li accounts that coincided with the blogs.

Fresh start on a lifelong dream!!

I think the best is to sell it on flippa. That is full ownership for your new blog instead selling content. Second what you can do is to do some research on similar topics on webpage, do contact them who interested into advertising in certain post/page on your blog which using your names. Advertising is one best you could do if your have many traffic on your blog. you can earn a lot from advertising. Provided you can always come with many post in future to help your client to stay advertising on your blog.

That was a first thought, but then my one blog's domain expires in just five days and I'm not renewing it. The other blog's domain, I won't sell that to anyone.

I'm happy that the content from both blogs are going to be published to softcover books. Completely hands-off, passive income stream, so it's not all going to waste. And it leaves me time to concentrate on our new business.

Used content is not something you can typically sell on, what may be a better idea for you is to sell the complete sites.

Both of your websites look to be very aged, with lots and lots of effort put into them.

I would list them on flippa if it was me, you will be much better off doing this as its less effort to sell complete sites instead of little bits of content.

Maybe approach a party planning company, they could use this to generate leads!

First off, congrats on the new start and on how things worked out for you with the blogs. I had a suggestion for the blog with your name, but it's no longer necessary.

One thing you might enjoy watching is how many people never get past the first post before replying. I wonder what the over/under is on "put it on Flippa"?

Glad someone else pointed that out! I didn't want to sound rude since I was the OP.

Honestly, I would just sell it as a complete package. Someone would be silly to buy your content and then post it on their website too. It would immediately be flagged as duplicate as soon as the spider reaches it.

I don't have to do anything with it now, since as I posted above, all of the content from each blog is being collected and collated into a book by my publisher.

Also, "duplicate content" is only when you have two identical posts, pages or articles on the SAME blog, otherwise, even syndication would be considered duplicate, which it is not.

Syndication is when you repost content found on someone else's website and give them credit - or not. Using someone else's content with their permission, i.e., PLR for example, is not duplicate content, only and unless you put two identical articles on the SAME blog.

So I could have sold the content only and exclusively to ONE person to use on their blog, as it is, without a problem since my site is coming down at the end of next month.

As far as selling my primary blog as "a complete package," that's out of the question since the domain name is my own name, unless the person buying the package has the same name as me. I mean, I know there are other ksmusselmans out there; i.e., Karen S Musselman, Kathy or Keith S Musselman or any name that uses the K S with the last name Musselman, but who would want to buy a domain of a name if it isn't theirs too?

The second blog couldn't be sold as a complete package either unless I could sell it in like, four days. The domain expires in four days and I'm not renewing it.

I opted for the best option - have a publisher compile the content into a book, which he offered to do because he really believes it can sell. Ditto with my second blog. So now I've got a couple more passive income streams in the future and I didn't have to any work! Pretty cool!
