"Caution: How The Type of Internet Mkting Questions You Ask Can Speed Up Or Delay Your Success"!

Fact: "There is no such thing as a bad question".
But there are obvious questions, good questions, better questions and best questions for what you're trying to achieve.

The better one's you ask, the faster your success or progress. Average questions will only get you average results. Whether you ask the questions to others or to yourself. So, you want to ask the best questions possible as a habit - not by chance. Because your success depends on it.

There's a popular saying that you can often gauge the intelligence of a person not just by the answers they give - but by their questions. That goes double for online marketing in my opinion. In fact, the type of questions you ask can literally speed up your success, slow it down or crash it.

Most people don't realize asking the most effective questions is a skill that can be developed and improved on. Plus, there's many benefits in doing so. For example,

  • They can bring out hidden information others never notice, even the experts you're asking.
  • They can save you time, effort, money, hidden problems and frustration.
  • They can help you control the depth of a topic or conversation. (Ask a shallow question -get a shallow answer .. ask a deep question get a deep answer).
They can even skyrocket sales, improve repeat business and boost referrals. They can even help your advisors, mentors or coaches help you better.

Plus, much more benefits, too many to mention in this short thread!

Most people don't take the time to form the right questions or even learn how to. As a result they get vague, fuzzy, or generalized answers that's hard or impossible to act on. Or the answers leave them even more confused than when they asked them.

Here's 4 Quick Tips to Asking Better Questions to Speed Up Your Online Marketing Success
.

1. The best questions are specific.
2. The best questions are direct.
3. The best questions gives enough background information to encourage an intelligent answer.
4. The best questions show the other person(s) you've done your initial research or listened to their explanation but just need a specific point clarified.

Those are my personal tips to gauge my own questions to others and myself. Any tips you can add will be greatly appreciated

As always I invite your comments, suggestions and even disagreements, I learn from the all..

The best questions I see are those about how to reduce time frames.

How can I reach more people in less time?

How can I raise the value of what I'm offering as quickly as possible?

How can I cut down my sales cycle?

These kinds of questions, rather than "Which autoresponder should I use?", "What hosting company should I buy from?", or "Which domain name should I choose?" determine outcome faster and more effectively than any others I've asked.

Yes, you make a good point Jason with your questions beginning with "how", and one I missed in my O.P. Referring to the power of open-ended questions vs. closed ended questions. Questions that begin with how or why (open-ended) is far more powerful than questions that begin with what, which or who (closed ended).

Even if you ask a what, which or who question (closed end question) - you'll notice you don't get the core information until you follow-up with how or why (open ended question).

Great points but let me ask Point #5

'Make sure you use the search function to find related questions and make sure you ask a UNIQUE new question'

This way, people expand the KNOWLEDGE base of the forum instead of asking the same question over and over again.

Yes, from your words to the managements ears. Your post should be written in stone and required to be memorized before you can start a thread. It would make for a more interesting Forum that's for sure.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Ha, Ha .... Yea, I agree with you in general. But the duzzy questions reflect more on the person (lazy, non-creative, didn't use the search button) than it does the question itself. Which might have been decent the first time it was asked as opposed to the 25th time.
