Default How Bricks & Mortar Companies can use Social Media

Hey guys,

As a part time internet marketer (and marketing executive for a bricks and mortar company), it is sometimes difficult to adapt the principles & strategies of internet marketing guru's and use them successfully offline.

This is especially true when it comes to Social Media. I work for a company that is somewhat similar to Starbucks or McDonald's (multi-national, food & beverage industry). We are just about to venture in to Social Media (Facebook, Twitter etc) but we are unsure where to even start.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how we can use social media to build our business and does anybody have any examples of similar bricks and mortar companies who are using social media successfully?

Thank you in advance!

There's an active social media marketing group on LinkedIn with over 31,000 members. I think you'll find a lot of relevant real-world experience over there and folks in situations comparable to yours.

Quote:
This is the LARGEST and most active social media marketing group on LinkedIn.com. It is intended for interactive advertising and marketing professionals who are actively engaged in social media and community-oriented websites around the world.
Hope this helps.
