Some advice for the first traffic

Hello,

Today I almost completed my first website (it's about tv shows/movies which are posted. But without realy much content). But my traffic is staying realy low, about 10 visites a day. I'm looking for some free traffic from the Netherlands ( because it's Dutch).

So far I found out:
- Backlinks (posting your links with some extra text on forums)
- Social media. (I only have 10 likes)

Ofcourse I can invest in Facebook and other Advertisements. But i'm looking for some help how to get myself started with some free traffic. (my earnings are only made by advertisements on my website)

What do you guys suggest?

I can't say if the quality of traffic is good, but have you tried ListJoe?

It's the same quality as any other safe-list...very poor.

    Hi Stev,

Blogging can be really helpful. For a bit over $100 a year, buy a domain and hosting and create helpful content to draw in traffic. Traffic follows value and blogging is one stop shopping for your readers/customers/visitors. I'd focus on sharing your expertise via helpful, practical tips laden posts. If you do not vibe at all with writing, shoot videos. You can go the podcast route but that costs a bit more than hosting a blog. As for 100% free traffic, social is solid and so is forum marketing. Learn your stuff, help folks, form bonds and you'll see a steady increase in traffic.

    All the best!

When your site is new, you really have to post content to get the traffic going. You also have to make sure that you have done proper keyword research and that you are using titles and stuff that people are searching for. If you want a popular t.v. show to promote, try things that are considered "classics" now like Friends, Star Trek - TNG and Voyager are my favorite, Spongebob, Full House - supposed to be going like a next generation thing here soon, and so on.

When I am looking for free or cheap traffic, I ask myself: Who has a lot of traffic in my niche?

The answer will be things like: the search engines, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, niche blogs, niche forums, Reddit and so on.

Then I ask myself: How can I get this traffic to my site? The answer will be things like buy traffic, guest post, post videos, engage with social sites and so on.

You then go ahead and try different things. If it works double down, if it doesn't work take it behind the barn and shoot it.

I would suggest the same as above, blog. Share your blog/content on social media and traffic will find its way to you. Just don't get discouraged if you don't see results quickly, free traffic methods take a while to get going.

    I don't exactly understand this.^^

Run some ads and gather email subscribers. Even Amazon does this. This should be simple for you. For free traffic, social media is your best friend. And consider starting a blog too... about reviews on the shows and movies on your site.

Is this a review site, a tube site, or a site like Rotten Tomatoes?
