There are a lot of people who just can seem to get passed that first step of choosing which niche to get into. Once you complete that first step, so many more opportunities can open up. You can build an email list, blog, website, membership site, app, info product, YouTube channel, web series, podcast, training guides, and so much more.     I don't consider these niches. They are broad general topics in which there can be dozens, if not hundreds, of specialized niches. For example, the topic of Making Money Online could have literally thousands of niches -- Making Money Online with AdSense, Making Money Online with no Startup Cash, Making Money Online with eBay Products, etc. etc. etc. .......

      Yes I agree. You need to take these Markets and whittle them down to highly narrow Niches...i.e Smokers who are beginning early stages of Pregnancy etc..

    There are some good ones listed there, and like stack said, some are very broad. I have always been interested in the apparel niche, but I have been worried on how to get the traffic. I would like to do it online as it wouldn't be too much physical work or overhead. But then again, I would like to have a little boutique, because you are definitely going to get traffic if there is a sidewalk nearby. I still have my little business plans close at hand for working in the apparel niche, but I need a sidekick, or somebody to give me a little push in the right direction. It's easy to get lazy when you don't have anybody bossing you around.

    Anyway, thanks for sharing your list. Is it okay to quote it or share a link to it? Just three days ago, a memeber on another forum asked for some niche suggestions. No joke.

    PS. on indulgences, may as well add tobacco/ecig and liquor!

      Here's another "quick and dirty" way to preview some niches.

      Go to Amazon books. Choose a broad book category that interests you.

      Then drill down in that category as far as you can go. Chances are, you are looking at a potentially profitable niche.

      Here's just one example: broad category = "Self-Help" Drill down as far as you can go, like maybe

      Self-Help ---> Relationships ---> Interpersonal Relationships ---> Divorce

      You can still dig deeper by looking at the subjects of the most popular books (even though these are all in the same category of "divorce")

      Here are some popular divorce subjects:

      - Deciding whether to stay or leave
      - How to get what you want from men
      - How to survive the loss of love
      - How to protect your children in a divorce
      - How to find love again
      - How to rebuild when the relationship ends
      - The abandoned wife's guide to recovery
      - Finding true peace after break-up
      - Getting your X back again
      - The financial considerations of divorce

      There are many, many more deep niches related to divorce.

      The bottom line is . . .

      Amazon sells tons of books and the ones that get lots of reviews, the ones that are popular, often the ones that are "featured" are good choices for the subject of a niche ebook, a niche web site, a membership site, etc.

        Sometimes you may find yourself focusing on niches rather than the idea itself. For example a book that topped the best selling book list on Amazon last month was a book called "The Rabbit Who Wants To Fall Asleep" which claims to be like hypnosis for children. This book probably won't fall under any of the niche categories posted here but the book is an Amazon top seller so you may also want to try to think more about ideas that you think will work rather than focusing too much on a niche.

        In my view, all niches can do extremely well but it really does depend on the product and idea that you are selling. Is it a product that is unique or refreshing or is it just a spin off to the many other hundreds of thousands of products out there?

        Another quick example is colouring books for adults, the idea sounds wacky but I remember seeing a news story on TV about this and obviously the adult colouring book went to make great sales, who would have thought

    If someone needs a "Big List 'o Niches" to figure out how to make money online, then the niche is definitely not their biggest problem.

    With that said, a niche is something very specifically targeted within a larger segment. You just took huge categories and broke them down into slightly less huge categories, and that doesn't do anyone a bit of good. For example, weight loss....it can be broken down into 20 more segments- with some being great website ideas, while others are horrible. But people just starting out will have no idea on how to learn that stuff, and this post will do more harm than good for newbies.

    But hey, at least you got your signatures exposed...so I guess I'll say happy +1 to you.
