Yes. It's possible to make good money with affiliate marketing. But like all businesses, it's important to plan well. To understand where you want to go with your life and your business.

My recommendation is to select a business model that includes building an email list. That way you can communicate with and build a relationship with your list and provide value to them (free bits), and then as you build the know-like-trust factor you will be able to also share paid offers (affiliate). If your email list are your fans, then you can potentially continue selling to them and serving them without always trying to find a cold audience. Of course, you always want to grow and add new people to the list.

You need to start with an idea--a genre, a niche. Think of a big broad area, like health? money? electronics? etc. Or maybe something from your own background that you know about and/or passionate about. You'll need to narrow those broad ideas WAAAAAAAAAAY down, to have a unique angle. Once you know your niche, then you can decide what kind of business model, tools, products you will need to be looking for.

Making money with affiliate marketing is very much possible.
It all depends on your approach.

And in the case of who to follow, it's really going to be
one of your greatest challenge. It pays to keep a few professionals handy
and talk to them whenever you get stuck.

You don't have to buy or subscribe to anything these people offer.

Reading far and wide will greatly sharpen your IM skills
and help you know the wide range of money making ideas
available and how to explore them too.

IM doesn't just stop at what your mentor teaches you,
its your duty to take it to another level.

Starting is easy. Go to Clickbank and the help they give is virtually self-explanatory. But.... who to follow, or listen to? Well, there are alot of people making good money with affiliate marketing. It's just a matter of time (years) before their business reaches 5-figures a month. I would start learning about affiliate marketing by using the search function on this forum. Turn your un-answered questions into solutions. Plus there are alot of great guides in the War Room (and through Google searches) that will show you the way. Good luck!

I thought this was a great point: I would start learning about affiliate marketing by using the search function on this forum. Turn your unanswered questions into solutions.

I also think finding a great mentor, has helped me tremendously!

      Hi Randall

Thanks for the advice, going to join the War Room seems a good place to start, also would you suggest for a newbie a blog or simple word press website?

It's a bit more difficult getting started these days, especially if you don't have a budget. To answer the question, though.. yes, you can still make a good amount of money through affiliate marketing.

Like any other job, though, you've got to have the drive and be persistent through thick and thin to see yourself succeed. Many give up before they really get started.

Some sites will flop entirely. Some will barely make enough to fill your car up with gas each week. Others will make enough to pay your bills and more every month. You've just got to keep going until it works.

I too am new to SEO site creation and affiliate marketing. I have the drive and have went through the google sniper 3.0 course (not endorsing by any means). Honestly I would love to find a mentor/coach to show me the ropes and the tricks. Looking to be in the $4000-$8000 per month range so whatever it takes to get there is what I want to do. I don't mind the work... I can do that, I just want someone to show me what to do.

Again, I believe a mentor or coach would be MY best bet to maybe get a jump start into the marketing money.

    Best,
    Scott

I think there are many place where you learn this. If there is one tips that I could share with you, i will say you need to focus collecting leads from start. Whether you have your own product or not, this is asset. Start doing email marketing and you can generate many sales form this. Don't overload yourself with many information on the net. If want to start, you could do niche blog and do reviews other product. Best is to provide excellent information for visitors and don't forget to get their emails. The key is action.

    Hi Carl,

I'll just add to the advice already given, since affiliate marketing is one of my areas of expertise.

What I'd suggest is just reading through this WF post here. (Saves me saying the same thing all over again in your thread here).

Now in that post, you'll notice a suggestion to make money sooner than later: "Some profit is always required relatively early on. Newcomers basically need first-hand evidence that all of their hard work - and the hard work to come! - can indeed pay off. There is nothing worse than slogging away each day and wondering, "Did I make a big mistake here?"

    I'll just expand.

The idea is to try and generate profits early on in order to motivate yourself to continue and and thus grow your income.

There are 3 main types of affiliate offer:

    1. PPL (Pay Per Lead)
    2. PPS (Pay Per Signup)
    3. RevShare (Ongoing Commission)

With you being an absolute newcomer, and keeping the suggestion in mind that initial profits are motivational, I'd suggest the first type: PPL.

How does PPL work? You've probably seen them all over the net, simple forms (either short or long) that you have to fill in to receive something. It could be access to an online game, access to information, you name it.

As an affiliate, you can receive a small commission each time you convince someone to complete such a form, and since they're free to complete, no credit card required, newcomers typically convert them much easier than PPS and Revshare. My own PPL commission rates range from $1 to $12.50 for each completed form.

Now to give you a little more structure.

How, exactly, can you promote these offers? Not a simple question to answer. There are literally hundreds of suitable business models and structures.

    A Few Common Structures:

    1. A Blog.
    2. A Squeeze Page
    3. A Top List (home page) with a blog and other sections.
    4. A Squeeze-Blog Hybrid, combing the two.
    5. eBooks

To get yourself started, then, consider the above, and perhaps use it as a springboard for research, where you'll effectively be fleshing out the above into a working plan.

    - Tom
