how to hire and motivate a cold caller?

hi, I want to hire a cold caller from freelancer.com to find me a shop that will sell me a product that I need from time to time.

How can I motivate that freelance to not just make calls but to find me a good deal? Should I offer a bonus, or should I promise to rehire?

thanks,
Marcus

Give them bonuses and some fix regular increments to their salaries
You can promise to give them quarterly pay-raise based upon how well they perform.

  • Don't treat them like trash and pay well, cold calling is hard and 99% of people suck at it, if you get one that is good pay them!

OP, you might want to check out the Offline section of the forum.

We discuss topics like this all the time.

    In answer to your question:

    > be prepared to go through several if not many candidates

    > hire local if you can; being able to watch the person makes a difference--most people are not wired to work independently

    > hire in the country you're calling into if possible. Many callers from outside the US calling into this nation, for example, are "too nice." They give up too quickly because they want to be polite. So they burn though your budget, they actually make dials, but they don't get conversations.

    > Money. Bonuses. Spiffs. If they perform, they get more.

    > I don't know why you would "promise to rehire." If they're great, you continue working with them. If they suck, you find someone else.
