More effective tactic: Search or Content?

Successful Warriors: Which has led you to more success on Google? The Search or Content networks?

Not sure about anyone else but search has gotten me many more sales but, content is good for getting cheap clicks to see if there is any interest.

I've had good results with search. you can get relatively cheap clicks on long tail keywords

Search results for me gives more sales. However, some content network are helpful mostly because of the cheap investment to get traffic. I focused on SEO because it's free.

I think now days lot of great marketer using a content network. but I don't know
