Warriors!!! Any tips on offline IM?

Warriors,

I have a marketing business that my partner and I have been working on for awhile now. It was mainly direct offline marketing with mailers and drilling into target markets...etc

We both took a huge interest in IM awhile back and have been learning ever since. (loving it!)

We are really excited about incorporating all of our IM knowledge into this business and have come up with some really good ways to package and sell it...but I would like to know from all of you warriors out there if you have any tips or even any good e-books/software to recommend for our success.

Thanks to all you warrior's in advance...can't wait to see all of the great responses!

I learned one thing when I was doing it.

You can have the best offer you can think of and if you listen to your potential customers they will tell you what they want and need.

Just a for instance. I was selling brochure type sites. By listening I found that many people just wanted to know how to "make their computer work." Problem, viruses and spyware had taken over their PCs.

I made quite a few bucks just running my arsenal of anti virus and other "clean up" programs.

This is just one example. The point, it's easy to sell people what they already want and build trust with them and perhaps later sell what you originally wanted to sell in the first place.

      WOW!

Funny you say that...that is pretty much how I started this marketing business in the first place. (just backwards)

I had an IT company that my friend and I started when we were in HS and I kept getting ppl asking if I could do little things for them such as...brochures/business cards/websites. I eventually branched off and started free lance marketing projects for people I had done PC work for.

So I get what your saying...but that is always a great thing to keep in mind...it is always important to find out EXACTLY what the customer wants in order to create return or future business.

Thank you very much Mr. Wright! It's always good to have a refresh from an intelligent warrior like yourself!

      Here's an idea (that's been proven);

Create a website for a specific Category (Plumbers)

      Get a Domain ("BestPlumberInYourTown.com")

Send a Postcard with the front page of the Sample Site, to 10 Plumbers in "Your Town" telling them this site is available to the First One that wants it.

Show them what they're going to get.

          Travis,
there are several warriors in here killing it offline... Hugely killing it. I would reccomend
searching like tina suggested and looking at the info.

The offlinemoneyblueprint sells huge, Listbuilding/ OPT IN , and a host of other items. The key too working the offline arena is really simple. Listen to clients, position yourself as the expert, provide solutions and results. DO NOT ever GUARANTEE ANYTHING, this will bite you in the butt faster than anything.

You got great input here so far... If you go to Mind power section of the forum i have
a great post on Starting a offline business.. Should be quite helpful.

Another idea is to find small local businesses that don't have a website and are looking to increase their customer base. Offer to build them a website and optimize that website for seo for keywords that the local business wants. Negotiate with the business until you settle on a monthly fee for upkeep of the website and seo work. If they still aren't convinced offer to build them a targeted facebook page or twitter page.
