I am newbie and I am ready to follow this. So what is affililate marketing then?

In AM people try to spam people by making fake sniper websites....Most of them are providing just fake reviews so that they can earn a comission....Can anyone explain it to me?

Affiliate marketing is a partnership between you and a seller. For every sale you make for them, they will give you a piece of their profits.

Some will give you 5% of each sale, while others may give you 50% of each sale. Use the "search" feature on this forum for more info, and check out the War Room for some good free books on the topic.

Top affiliate sites DO provide value...

    1. They provide simple product comparisons (Ex multiple models of cameras)
    2. They provide personal case studies or examples of that product in use
    3. They provide value to a list over a period of time gaining the trust of the subscriber and THEN market products to them
    4. They do a better job of communicating the value or benefit of a product to the market - so they get the sale
    5. They do a better job of reaching their market with the value message...so they get the sale

YES. Good affiliate marketers add value to the equation with these things.

Perhaps they add their own content, ie. a pre-sales series before sending the prospect to the main sales letter or VSL.

Maybe it is the affiliate's personality or celebrity status that attracts the prospect in the first place.

The affiliate could be adding other information to the process, and they are certainly adding value by qualifying the prospect further before letting them move onto the product.

If all you're doing (not you, Jeff, but "you" the reader) is directing traffic to someone else's sales page, you haven't done a very good job of being an affiliate.

It's also your opportunity to develop your own branding and your own following by letting your list get to know you.

Affiliate marketers are sales people. They source prospects and leads and close them into sales by bridging the information gap between consumer and product.

I don't do affiliate marketing, but when done right there is value there.
If someone takes the time to personally check a group of products and come with pros and contraries of each, that person is saving me time and money. I gladly click on their link and happily give them their commission.
Some marketers even provide reports or resources that make the product more effective, or add their personal twist. And you can access it when buying from them.
In both cases, I think it's a great deal for everyone involved.
Now... of course, you have all sorts of people in affiliate marketing, and many will be cheap cheaters. I don't buy from those.

You should definitely PLAN ON MAKING MONEY. Make a plan that leads to money.

But the money you receive in life is connected to how much service and value you give. It doesn't have to be earth shattering, like feeding the hungry. But your efforts should help people out and make life a little bit easier for them based on what you are selling them or other content you are giving.

Affiliate marketing is NOT spamming, if done correctly. You create a web site that is addressed to a particular target market, you build quality content on that site, you recommend affiliate products or services (and offer links) related to that market within your content, and get a commission of each lead or sale from your affiliate links. You must join the affiliate program or sign up (free) with the affiliate management company before you can begin using the links and making money. Commission Junction and Linkshare are two of the most popular affiliate management companies.

You can surely chase the Money or keep track of it rolling in once you add Value...i.e in many cases this means taking 6 to 9 months (like me) creating highly valuable Funnels with Follow Ups.

And then pretty much after this the only Value you add is answering questions and giving some advice to your Subs who ask for it.

But really it becomes more about 'Marketing' once you have all this in place

    hey karanjain,

Pls read below to learn what affiliate marketing is about: (a bit long, but as you are a newbie, i think it helps

Affiliate marketing consists of a performance-based method of marketing in which businesses and affiliates work together to create profit.
In this marketing method, a business rewards affiliates for every customer or visitor brought in by the affiliate's marketing efforts.

For Businesses: Affiliate marketing is an excellent way to generate sales and increase your revenue. It is performance-based, which means that affiliates promote your product, and then you reward your affiliates for each click, lead, or sale.
Affiliate marketing is the single fastest growing industry on the internet. Commission Junction, Amazon and ClickBank are just a few of the businesses running top affiliate networks, and they are making huge amounts of money from affiliate programs.
For Affiliates: Affiliate marketing allows you to earn money with your website by joining one of the many affiliate programs. These businesses offer affiliate programs to generate traffic to their websites. They generally offer high commissions based on the traffic and sales that are generated via your link.
Affiliate marketing is a very powerful and cost effective channel; you only have to pay when a successful transaction happens.
Affiliate marketing consists of four essential players:
➢ First comes the vendor, who is also known as the retailer, merchant or major brand.
➢ The network consists of the offers of vendors from which the affiliate chooses, and this is also where payments are made.
➢ The affiliate, who is also known as the publisher or digital marketer, is the one who does the marketing work.
➢ Finally, the customer purchases the product or service, and the profit is shared by the vendor, network and the affiliate.
Affiliates use advertising methods to bring customers to the vendor, and they are rewarded for their efforts. These advertising methods may include:
    • Search engine optimization (SEO),
    • Paid search engine marketing (PPC Advertising),
    • Social media marketing,
    • Email marketing,
    • Content marketing,
    • Solo Ads,
    • Reviews,
    • Blogging,
    • Display advertisements, etc.,
    and many more..

    kind regards,

    Koksal.

    Providing value

Make a website around a certain product/service (either your own, or an affiliate program).
But make sure you help people, allow them to contact you (email/phone/skype/WhatsApp/...).
This is how you provide value. Not many sellers/website owners will do that, so this may be your success! Or you can also give away some free material, but that's saturated haha

Since you have figured out that spamming is a part of affiliate marketing for many, why don't you start doing it with proper ethics?

Trust me top marketers look for long term money and that doesn't come by spamming people. So, if you want long term business forget spamming and focus on how to provide value and ven more value to your customers. Ask yourself why should they buy from you and you'll get there.

      "True dat" as they say.

The short history of online affiliate marketing, and IM in general, is littered with the corpses of 'businesses' that chased money by using questionable (or worse) ethics. Whether it was spamming Usenet groups, setting up Free-for-all links pages and spamming them, MFA sites, spamming profile links, yada, yada, yada, when the bite became painful, the teeth got pulled.

Look at the "new" trend of content marketing, with its emphasis on providing value. Some of us have been doing that for years. Do it well enough, and make good offers, and the money may chase you.

As usual Mr. Addams is spot on !!

People become too IM politically correct and say you shouldn't try to make yourself a lot of money but just work on providing value and the rest will follow.

      Poppycock, do both

    very good thread.

I have found over the years, the more stuff I give away, the better.

Remember, since 2008, people find it harder to part with the money they have now, unless they find value.

You can thank the GFC for that, but we have run tests, and asked our clients purely outright, and its the same answer that keeps coming back.

VALUE rocks, Value comes first, and VALUE is what solid businesses are built apon.

I think what is meant by "provide value" is that you should never just go out and ask for the sale without first providing the potential customer with someone of value to gain their trust.

People aren't stupid. They know when they are being sold to, even if the person is providing value first. I think the difference is that people don't mind being sold to by someone who has give them something that they needed first. They have no problem purchasing through you as they feel they need and want the product anyway and since you were there to help them, they are going to want to repay you by giving you the commission.

Simplified, it's somewhat like "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours."

Affiliate marketing is like everything else in life - there are those who promote bad products and steer people wrong, as well as those who really do give value. And in giving value they are helping people - perhaps helping them decide on a - say, a coffee maker - that does what the buyer wants, is reliable, and has good customer service.

The fake sites will not make you much money. People can tell when you have put no effort into what you're saying, and when the content is just copy and paste.

But if you're telling people about something that has helped you, in your own words and your own personal style, you will help other people get what they're looking for. And a by-product of that is more sales and happy customers who trust your advice.

Essentially, affiliate marketing allows you to sell products owned by someone else and you receive a commission for each sale. If you decide to become an affiliate you can put most of your focus into traffic generation.

There are many different ways to drive traffic to an offer, and it's up to you to choose a traffic generation method and get really good at it. Don't try to be the jack of all trades.

You mentioned spamming people with fake reviews, but there are much more ethical and helpful ways to market products than deceiving people into buying something simply because you want to make a quick buck.
