Are There Any YouTube Alternatives Actually Worth Using?

Hey Guys,

I am just wondering if anyone can suggest some YouTube alternatives that could be worth using?

I will be using YouTube as well but would just like as much exposure for my videos as possible and would appreciate any help possible in what sites are good and which are bad!

I would love to hear back from you guys, especially if you have had personal experience with the sites!

Thank-You very much in advance for any and all replies,
M"

If widespread is your goal, then YouTube is it.

    Vimeo.

Also setting up Social Media for additional sharing. (Facebook, Twitter). (Checkout Periscope!)

If you have a specific subject, there might be sites that allow video posting that are around that subject.

I also ran across an interesting idea, but haven't tried it. soapapp.co

YouTube and Vimeo are your options. Anything else is down in the noise level.

I would optimize for youtube as I am sure you are not doing what can be done.

This is very similar to the common blog questions we hear a lot. And the answer is quite the same: QUALITY!

You need to provide quality content (Video) and optimize your descriptions, tags, etc. in order to get the most views organically form the world's No.2 search engine.

I spent some time on a few videos of mine and I am happy to see consistent traffic coming to one of my sites from these optimized videos. It is well worth the trouble to do videos right and a lot of that is done after they're uploaded and you fill in the information - most people don't do this right.

What types of videos do you promote? Youtube is the absolute best in terms of exposure.

But you can try facebook, vimeo, vine.

    Cheers,

YouTube is the most popular but if you want an alternative take a look at DailyMotion it’s were Mashable and BuzzFeed upload a lot of their content. It has a similar layout to YouTube and has different video categories and allows video uploads of around 20 minutes.

    Hello

Try creating a page in facebook with regards to the videos you post and post your videos there, facebook gives more exposure to your video than youtube.

    Thanks

These are the 3 best IMO.

I often use DailyMotion when making a video that reviews a biz opp product or even a biz opp tutorial that I want to make sure is not deleted. YT has been going crazy deleting IM/Affiliate Marketing videos lately even if they are not selling anything!

Yes, YouTube, DailyMotion and Vimeo are the top 3 video sharing sites at the current time, in my opinion as well.

And as Nicheblogger mentioned, use DailyMotion to upload any videos related to IM as there is a high risk that YT will delete the videos or your entire YT account.

You can also upload IM related videos to Vimeo, Flickr, ScreenCast, VideoBash, etc. with less risk of them being deleted.

I've never had any of my videos deleted from either DailyMotion or Vimeo. That's not to say that they won't start doing it in the future, but I think if you have a tutorial for your subscribers or a review, etc, you are much better off using DM and Vimeo.

There are a lot of alternates to YouTube (as already mentioned) but YouTube is still the best. In my books, it has no alternate just like Google has no alternate.

Another option is to make videos in a way that they can be repurposed and the info distributed in other ways.

Take the audio and make it into a podcast.

Convert the video into slides and share them on the doc and pdf sites.

Can you create an info graphic from the video? Promote using the infographic sites.

Embed the videos in the popular social media sites like FB, Twitter, LinkedIn (if it's business related), Tumblr, Pinterest. Each of these social media sites allow you to build an audience through friends and followers.
