Is it realistic to build a website like wikihow or ehow to earn money?

Hi,

I am wondering if it is a realistic plan to build a website like wikihow or ehow to earn money.

In germany we have a website similar to ehow/wikihow that shows tutorials for every topic and pays people for writing articles for this website. This site is pretty successful.

Do you think its realistic to start a similar service as an individual with good coding skills and some money to invest?

Do you have good ideas to make this site unique? Beside a payment for the article I could offer an adsense revenue share for each article an author has written.

Thank you!

Not necessary. Why do you want to work so hard? You want acclaim, fame, and prominence in the online business community? Or do you want the money that will take care of you and your family.... for life?

Not unless you have a lot of money and time to waste. The ROI would be so far away if...and I state...IF it was successful

Your idea is basically sound. Making it work is another matter. Unless you can offer a site that is better than the existing sites, all you're doing is diluting the water.

How to make your site better? Is there something that the other sites don't do well? Based on your own experience with those sites, do they leave visitors unsatisfied for some reason? Do visitors get everything they were looking for on those sites? Is the information on those sites trustworthy and easy to understand? Can you do better?

If you're just going to be sniping questions and writing shallow materials, the answer is NO

Look up how Google Panda works

Google cracked down hard on big media companies like DEMAND MEDIA that focus on question sniping.

You can use a VA to outsource audience research so you can better leads regarding theme-driven question-focused sites that are VERY DEEP.

The best part is, it can all be done VERY CHEAPLY.

VA's cost around $50 per project. That's how much I pay.

    Hello jimjones

I will be straight to the point here, if you really have good skills. Try to make your own site because when you create a site like theirs you will still have to work hard for it to be noticed since people have been used to using them.

I suggest you use your skills to find clients, have them rate you high and then find more clients. Who knows some of your client may need an article writer or more worker that way you can build your own business using your name without risking your money.

    Thanks
