Hey guys,

So I've recently (3.5 months ago) Started my own blog and write down everything I learn about making money online.
I also add a monthly income report and although it's only been 3.5 months I've got one minor source of income that makes me around $20 a month.
I write a post a day usually and I try to learn as much as I can after sharing my posts on multiple social medias.
What advice could you give besides reading popular blogs, to get more traffic or just generally keep working on my website?
The more I know the more success I will have I guess, so I'm trying to soak up as much information as I can.
Thanks in advance!

    Write less.

    Seriously, write a lot less man. You don't need to write one blog post per day at all. I am guessing these are around 400-500 words in length so you cannot really pack a lot of useful info in that amount of words.

    Aim to write one super blog post per week of at least 2000 words. Make sure that the content is actionable (that people can use right away) and useful to your target audience (are you giving them what they are looking for?). Add images and stats about what you are trying to explain.´

    After writing that, then:
    - Email your list about it, once after you posted, then the day after and once again after three days (you can automate them all at once actually and just schedule to be sent later);
    - Same goes for your social media accounts.

    This will bring what is called returning traffic: people that are already familiar with your website and are coming back for some more content.

    Then promote the hell out of it!

    Use the Pareto Principle for this:
    - 20% for research and writing of the blog post
    - 80% of the time to promote it

    Here's a few ideas on how you can promote it:
    - Reach out to Influencers in the same niche to promote your blog post;
    - Create presentations from your blog posts and upload them to doc sharing platforms;
    - Comment on blogs that are in the same niche as yours;
    - Leverage the power of "answer" websites such as Yahoo or Quora;
    - Same goes for forums, using targeted niche forums;
    - Take your blog post and make 10 videos out of it and upload to YouTube;
    - Break it into smaller articles and add to article directories (don't worry about duplicated content, as long as you post it first to your blog you are golden).

    I am just trying to help in the content creation and promotion part, not really the monetizing issue. That's up to you to decide the best model...

    One last tip for social media: use the Pareto Principle as well! For every 5 posts you do, 4 should be from other blogs/websites and one from your own blog. Don't just share your content. Plus make sure that you share your content more than once, aim for 3-5 shares in a period of 10 days.

    Hope that helped.

    Good luck to you

    Cheers
    Dan

      Hey you gave me a lot of tips there. I'm thankful for that

      I just wanted to point out that I have some videos and a youtube channel and also I tend to write posts that are 1500-2000 words long.
      I have a lot of time since I decided to do this full time so I don't aim for anything under 1500 really.
      Thanks again and I will try to take your advice and make it work !

      I'm an affiliate for a program that teaches how to get started online in affiliate marketing and I got one person that signed up for the program so far.
      This ends up to make me around $20 but not sure how long it will last so I need to get many more subscribers
      It's a genuine program though so I feel good promoting it!

        Yeah, this is good. But of course you need to strive for more than this. Why don't you study that Program you promote that teaches other people how to make money online ?

        Nothing promotes better than your personal success story with the Product

        Otherwise you will have prospects asking how well did it work for you . And then you tell them only
        $20 month .( not a great selling point)

        See how that works

    Stop reading and writing. This is not what will make you the real money online. Take action like learn how paid ads work.

    Congrats on the $20/month. Autopilot income is always the BEST kind. lol The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to spend more time on things that actually produce income for you. For instance...most people spend 2 hours writing a blog post and trying to make it perfect, and only spend 10 minutes promoting it. This is WAY backwards. Spend 10 minutes writing an informative post, and spend 2 hours promoting it!

    Also, make sure you do what you can to monetize your site. I have endless ideas, and I don;t want to bore you, but feel free to PM me if you need additional suggestions. Good luck!!

    Your problem is that you focus on UPDATING REGULARLY.

    It's much better to just write a VERY USEFUL POST (a case study of money making techniques or traffic techniques) once a week and spend the rest of the time...

    PROMOTING IT.

    The good news is your competition has already done your homework for you.

    Just reverse engineer your competition's best content, come up with a BETTER original version and replicate his social media and backlink footprint.

    Also, don't delude yourself into thinking that you need HUGE traffic to make money...

    Get a list going and send credibility-building updates to your list.

    Eventually, your list should be big enough to monetize with your OWN products like reports, books, and services.

    You really, really do not need to update that much you know.

    Heck i got very old blogs (like 15 years+ before we even called these BLOGS) and i update them twice a year or so and i'm getting nice traffic to them. Unique and quality content matters.

    If you want traffic, pay for it. Why is paying for ads such a concept that people don't want to do? You're going to have to do more than just free marketing with your blog. Save all of the *free* stuff for your email subscribers. In the meantime, continue to write, promote your blog to your email list, and start running ads for your blog.

    to be honest, you need a strategic plan on traffic generation.

    Blogging alone will not make you money...

    Blogging + internet marketing = $$$$

    Make sure you stay informed about what's going on in the niche you're in and write about those things. Using the "news" function on Google might be helpful. Also, make sure you are tagging your posts correctly, so that people can find them. A keyword tool like the free Google keyword planner tool is useful when doing this. Finally, make sure you are building a list. This is really important once your blog starts getting search traffic. Some visitors will sign up without you having to do much. However, you should build a relationship with your list, as it will act as an income stream for your blog.

    So then you want to make money by talking about how the blog about how you make money by talking about making money is going to make money.

    It's amazing how "internet marketing" just keeps lowering the bar. And it really makes me stop and wonder what kind of total idiots read these kind of blogs where the only income being talked about is concerning the blog itself. This is beyond stupid.

    If you really want to make money from your blog then Focus on giving out less content but highly valuable and actionable content to your visitors. Demonstrate to them so that they will come automatically to your blog looking for a new content.
    Not only that but you should also start building up an email list that will help boost up your website traffic once you publish a blog post. This will also help in improving your alexa rank. With little bit of good SEO which of course you can outsource, you will start geting way more traffic.

    Cheers
