Information overloaded for newbie, what should I focus on? Pls advise

Dear all,
I'm a newbie exploring IM and started back in Mar/Apr 2015. Went to a seminar (upselling towards the end, but nonetheless introduced me to IM world) and picked up a few tips so started trying out.

Here's what I've been through (as brief as I could):
1. Started a website and learn how to build at the same time (www.HealthyLiving101.co)
2. Bought some PLRs from WF to fill up my site
3. Joined ClickBank, and paid for ClickBank University to learn
4. Created accounts for as many social media as I could (FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, G+, etc)
5. Paid for Aweber.
6. Paid for 1 week of FB Ads to get Likes for my FB page, got 600+, but only 7 sign-up on my website (4 unsubscribed now)
7. Reached out to YouTube channel hundred of owners to link my ClickBank affiliate links, only one put it up. No sales so far.
8. Saw promotional newsletter from WF on CPA package, purchased it, saw a different approach on IM etc.
9. Saw Solo Ad recommendation from WF and trying to figure out how it works

Questions:
- How is the setup of my site? Is it too messy?
- Am I doing too many things? If so, what should I focus on?
- Is my "Free Gifts" page good enough as a squeeze page?
- Should I use FB Ad / Solo Ad to link directly to my ClickBank hoplink or email submit link(AdWorkMedia etc)?

My objective for now is to generate income as soon as possible, to cover basic expenses for IM and to gain some confidence.

I would think that once I see some $$$ coming in it would encourage me to do more.

Appreciate your advise.

Thanks in advance.

    - The setup looks fine too me. It's clean. Maybe add an image of the free gift within the popup, this might increase conversion (you should test). You should also test and tweak different wordings on your optin form.

    - You should definitely focus one technique for getting traffic, master it before you move on to the next.

    - Your Free Gifts page needs some work too. the first impression I got was that it is filled with ads, although it's ot the case. Study some high converting squeeze pages and try to apply the techniques.

    - I would advise on building a list first and later promote your hop links to them.

P.S. Make sure to completely re work the PLR while also adding useful info. Use the PLR only as a backbone for writing.

Thank you zuberr for the advice.

With regards to the "Free Gifts" page, what gives the impression that it's filled with ads?
Is there any example post / reference of good squeeze page that I can refer to?

    Hi..
Your free gift optin tab looks like an ad truly..i like your site, its cool and simple. You could do with some tweaking and testing ( change the optin image and see the change in conversion rate over time ). Sometimes nobody knows what will work, you have to tweak and test till you are certain of what works and lastly, i think you have to focus more on building your list right now, they will eventually buy when they trust you. Give them good value.

On the homepage, your free offer needs to be more visible because I also thought it was an ad. I didn't feel that need or pull to enter my email to get the e-book because there's a disconnect with the picture that you are using and the actual offer that you are giving. Replace this with something else asap. I think it would be better if you replace the picture there with an actual e-book image that has the title in it. Also, make the "Get a FREE copy of our exclusive e-Book" bigger or stand out more

Overall, the site is really nice. You did a nice job with it. Good luck.
Thank you raymond89 and Elle P for your encouragement, I'll work on the free offer and continue adding contents

Iam not saying it will not work. But intial feelings is that it is very general. Iam more into to narrowing down the Niche. Like focusing on Women getting healthy after pregnancy. or men losing weight over 60.

But there have been some who have had success with your style. So I do not want to say scrap it.

I think concentrate on one thing until you really master it.

Like the YT videos and really put a 100% effort in it. Or Facebook.

Focus on one for right now

Also you need to make your Optin more specific and your gift more specific. The secrets to Healthy Living wont cut it , imo.

Thats not incentive enough for me to give over my email. Use a number or something. Like the "7 Sure Ways to get a Sexy Firm Bod" or " The 16 Super Foods that your Body Cant Live Without"

      Something of that nature

    A few ideas:

You need a real squeeze page for directed traffic. Your paid traffic and YouTube links should point here not to your blog or directly to offers. You need a good landing page/squeeze page with a strong incentive (a generic PLR ebook on "healthy living" isn't going to cut it).

Your autoresponder follow-up sequence should be designed to sell a specific affiliate product. Choose a product wisely and make sure it is targeted for your list. Create a sequence of health tips that promote the affiliate product.

For example, if it is a Paleo Recipe book have an email series that promotes a Paleo lifestyle and then recommend the book for great recipes to get started. Create a series of 7, 14 or 21 days that combines real value added information interspersed with more direct promotion emails for your chosen product. Only one product.

Once they are finished that initial promotional series you can have them automatically moved to a new list. The new list could be a general health list you maintain or another promotional series of information and recommendations for a new product.

Look at your email sequence and find out where/why people drop out. Remember to add value and give them a reason to keep opening and reading.

The pop-up opt in is fine but it should be there to grab incidental, Google and return traffic. The opt-in on the side could be a better designed form or a banner that links to your squeeze page.

Your content is really not good. It reads like decent PLR or medium iWriter type content mill stuff.

You need to make it read with more engagement and give some real value. Not information 90% of your readers will already know.

What do you want to say? What do your readers want to hear? Why should they listen to you? What is your unique angle on the topic? Where can they go for more info?

A generic blog in the competitive health niche is not enough to get anywhere. You need to make yourself stand out. Build a strong funnel and list for traffic to your blog and offers.

Focus on finding a MARKET of people who are already looking for a solution you can provide.

The things you listed are technical details, not a business model. There's a big difference. The tech exists to help you carry out the business model.

I see you with a toolbox overflowing with tools, but no building plan.

Traffic, by itself, is not an answer. Which I think you are starting to understand.

Who are you trying to attract? What symptoms of problems are you talking about that match up with their own experience, to attract them with? What solutions are you providing that they agree fix a problem they're having? How will you make a profit?

A double armful of tools won't figure that out for you.

Figure out the business model first, then apply the tools to execute it.

Robert, onSubie, and Jason, thank you for your valuable advice. To summarize, there are a few key things that I need to work on for the website:
      1. Revisit and think about the "market" that I'd want to be in
      2. Rework the squeeze page
      3. Rework the free gift
      4. Provide more value in the articles / posts

I appreciate these will be an ongoing mid / long term effort that would help to grow organically, which would be healthy growth.

On my other question, what would be your recommendation for me to push for short term income to, at least, balance the book and cover the expenditures on hosting and purchasing materials?

Say I have a $500 budget set aside, and to generate some profit of few hundred bucks a month for expenses etc.

      Thanks again!

This was my first thought as well.

Refine down to a more specific audience. You can always evolve into a bigger picture, but from what I just saw you are all over the map.

I was so in your shoes! Look, here is my 2 cents. You are only going to be successful working on the things that make you happy. After multiple failures and frustrations I went back to the basics. I personally decided I wanted to help people that were in the same position I was. I almost got out of the business all together. The established marketers can't hold my hand, there was too much information, and not enough success to keep me on. So, I did something about it. I now concentrate on helping people generate the multiple streams of income slowly so they can see results every step of the way. I love it and because I love it I am now more successful than ever. And I love that I am not hocking products. I am actually helping people. Let me know if you need any help. Glen with NexxOnyxx

From what I've seen at your website, it looks good and clean. Like what others have said earlier, I also agree that you should build your list and that your squeeze page needs to be reworked because there's no strong pull for people to opt in.

Under the Free Gifts tab, you can easily use either of the first 2 benefit lines (Discover the secrets of losing weight by going “herbal” or How do people keep themselves motivated to exercise?) to become your headline for your squeeze page because they grab people's attention and have a higher chance people to opt in. Of course, you'd probably have to tweak and rephrase it several times to see which ones would have a higher opt in rate.

I would recommend that instead of buying FB likes, save the money and use it for solo ads to test your squeeze page. This is a fast way to get conversion results on your squeeze pages.

    All the best.

Honestly, congratulations on taking so much action so far. Just the fact that you've done so much and found out what didn't give ideal results is great. Most people get stuck on the other end of the spectrum and never really do anything at all, they just read and skip from strategy to strategy.

Now, as for moving forward: Think about narrowing in and becoming an expert on one facet of your market, and then work on one traffic source at a time. For example, you might write some really killer, non-promotional, super valuable content for your blog, then write some equally killer content and shop it around to other real people (not just marketers) in your niche. Become and then find other people who are writing out of passion, and they will be more likely to republish your things.
