Could do with some advice on what I should do next with my internet business?

I'm in a niche which deals with a certain type of small business owner who needs more leads to increase their monthly income..

I've written an ebook and have been building my list since July. The ebook is priced at $67 and I offer a standard freebie optin, followed by a 10 day autoresponder sequence with a special offer of $47 at the end.

I've tried building 2 types of lists, one with an optin form on my blog (List A) and one via a squeeze page (List B)

Here are my results so far

List A - 164 subscribers and 3 sales (7.5% opt in rate)
List B - 83 subscribers and 1 sale (30% opt in rate)

Of the 4 sales, only one is for the original price of $67, the other 3 are for $47
2

My open and click through rates for List A are good, but quite poor for List B (I expected this as I feel you will generally get better quality subscribers through a blog)

I'm disappointed by the number of sales to be honest as I know there is demand for this product. I originally promoted a lower priced product at $17 and was generating a sale for every 10-12 subscribers, but this new $67 product is a more detailed version of this older product.

What should I do next to get more sales?

Split testing is often where I fall down as I can make decisions too early when there is not enough data.

So....

1) Should I continue to drive more traffic? Paid and free methods to get more data
2) Should I extend the autoresponder sequence for longer and delay the introduction of the special offer
3) Should I lower the price?

Any thoughts would be really welcome...

You might want to use 'deep' information to get the optin instead of using the standard freebie method.

Also, you might want to optimize your squeeze page by tweaking different elements (one at a time) until you achieve higher optin rates.

As for autoresponder extension, that's always an option but you might want to offer CASE STUDIES in your series.

Depending on your traffic costs those numbers are not bad.

$17 was actually producing more income and buyers, right?

Keep testing to see what produces the best results over time.

      You need more data.

Someone helping you would need more detail.

That said, and this is only from my personal POV and experience ...

If a freebie list doesn't convert at least 25% into buyers in 30 days, I get pissed. But only you would know where each subscriber is in your funnel.

And I don't know your niche.

And I don't know your product.

And I can't see your funnel.

      And ...
      And ...
      And ...

1 in 4 subscribers is amazing. Are you selling a cheap product and then upselling with a more expensive one? When I had my $17 product, I was selling 1 in 10-12, but with less sales now, I still earn around the same each month.

Maybe I need a cheaper product to pitch to my list first and then upsell with this more expensive $67 product? Problem is that they would need to be very closely linked (helping business owners in my niche find more leads)

As mentioned before those numbers are not bad BUT it's also too
early to tell. You need at least 1000 subscribers before you start
    seeing a pattern.

I once offered a $10 product and sales were through the roof, so
    I increased to $15, then $20, then $30, then $37 then $47 and
sales increased each time until a small drop off at $47 so I settled
on $37. You may want to go in smaller increments from $17 to
    find out your optimal price.

If your making more than your spending you ahead of most!

You don't really sound to bad! PPC traffic is of very high quality I have found. Have you dug deep into your list and prospects and see what challenges or issues they have? Maybe address that in your campaigns.

yes the more demand the more choices people have thats for sure. Your site is a needle in a haystack.

I wouldn't lower the price as long as your in the range for your market. Don't undercut yourself which instinctively so many people want to do.

Instead work on presenting your information...

Whats your main competition doing? See they are addressing the current demand..

Yeah for sure set up a couple of duplications of your site and make those small changes and keep with the traffic so you have something to go against.

Data is KING. You need data so that you can get the big picture of whats going on, and where you need to make tweaks.

If you were doing great and making sales with the lower priced product, then maybe you should take some of the great points from your $67 product and make a $10 product. Then offer them the opportunity to learn more by buying the $67 at a later time. They have already let you know they are willing to spend money, and if the information is really good, they will buy the next offer as well.

Keep testing, you are on the right track. Don't give up to early. You can sell this $67 product. There are people that want what you have to offer, you just have to find them. Good luck!!

Keep on creating free, relevant, helpful target MC and keep on connecting with leaders from your niche. More helpful content and more helpful friendships mean more sales As for the numbers driven stuff and analysis, I see the purpose yet, many folks overthink the IM thing. Think more about creating more value and building more meaningful relationships to increase your niche versus trying to do anything else.

As for creating value: blogging, podcasting, tutorial videos and helpful newsletters are powerful vehicles.

    My contrarian take

    All the best!
