Does college students in U.S. have credit card?

I am planning to target dating for 21 years old men - who could mostly be college students. My question is... in the United States... do most college students have a credit card?

I am hoping that they have a supplementary credit card so that they are able to buy the infoproduct that I am offering.

Please feel free to share your opinion.

21-year-old American guys are probably one of the worst demographics to target dating advice info products to. I wouldn't expect this to sell.

21 year old men in college? Most of these dudes are having orgies. This is the best time of their life - without even TRYING. I know such the case was for me.

Yeah they got credit cards, but i doubt they'll spend it on a dating book - especially with horny girls around who are figuring out and learning more about their own sexuality.

Plus some of these dudes don't have time for dating. They may have part-time jobs, along with having to solve differential equations questions for class the next day.

Choose a different niche and demographic.

Wow - talk about a bad idea. You know NOTHING about your target market.

You are in Malaysia - right? Trying to target "rich U.S. market" - in your mind, at least. At 21, most U.S. male students are halfway through college - so that eliminates half of your "college market".

Students in college here do not "date" as such these days - they 'meet up' and they 'hang out' and they 'gather'. My Grandson and most of his friends (all in college) have had credit cards since they were 16. However, that does not translate into "easy pickings".

I agree. Its a smorgasbord for young college guys these days. And a smorgasbord for young college girls as well

They dont need any help. A quick hook up at the dorm next door and thats all they need .

You need to reevaluate your target market.

And you need to target ole farts like me in their late 40s LOL

Never get your intel from folks who don't know.

      Complex, thanks.

You have summed up one of the problems with forums in general, lots of opinion, not much from real life experience.

You have provided THE answer the OP really needed. This is what the term "winnowing" is all about, separating the wheat from the chaff.

Lots of good sounding advice on WF, and we see a lot of people taking it...

The better question would be, "What experience do you actually have in _____?"

Whatever it is, try to get feedback from at least 2 or more people who have done it.

One thing you always keep in mind ... 21 yr old dudes LIE about their sexcapades.

And they don't tell grandma about their sex life either.

I want to add this so it helps in your future intel gathering:

People outside of a demo often have a distorted view. But they don't know it. They hear or read about something happening at one college, to one small group, and they think it's happening everywhere.

Case in point. Years ago, a story broke all over the news that girls were trading sex for bracelets. And old folks got outraged. And middle aged folks were worried their daughters were doing it.

Truth was, it happened at ONE school amongst ONE small group.

And it got distorted to be ALL girls at all schools and totally shocking.

Never get your intel from folks who don't know.

Folks said the same thing 10 years ago. Why would anyone buy dating advice because they are all hooking up on Myspace and Match and blah blah blah.

      Test.

But always know that intel coming from folks who are outside the demo and who say things like "my grandson" or "they're all having orgies all over the place" are so out of touch ...

They don't know they are out of touch.

Did you ever tell your grandma about your sex life?

      Lol.

Did every dude in the summer of love (1967) have orgies all over?

      Lol.

i once made sales from this cadre of persons.

i will advise you take advantage of the age range as you can make huge sales depending on your niche.

Yes, the banks make sure kids (sorry . . .) that age have credit cards, lol.

I think dating is a good niche if you think of it from the point of view of some young men needing confidence to connect with women. Also the Millennial generation is not *quite* as shallow as the previous ones even in their youth. They may very well want some serious, sincere information about relationships.

But like everyone else says, study about the market.

    Yes they do.

In fact, there's too much credit offered to college students.
