Sending proof to Paypal

So my PP account has been recently limited and now they want all kinds of stuff from me including ID card scan, scan of last bills for address proof and few more things.

Now I feel very uncomfortable sending my ID card on the internet but I have some money on my account that I cant do anything with now. Is it all good to send them my proof?

    I've got to ask, what did you do to spark their sudden interest in you?

    To answer your question, I'd be inclined to say that if it is really PayPal to whom you're sending your proof, then yes, I think it's more or less "all good." Is it totally safe and secure? Of course not, but I think odds are you'll be fine.

    Did you get an email from them telling you that your account has been limited or did you log into your back office and they told you that?

    If you got this request through email, someone is probably trying to get your info and steal it.

    You need to contact PayPal and ask them if they sent you an email requesting this information.

    I had the same issue where they emailed me (it was fake).

      I had the same request from PP one year ago and I had to send them everything they wanted. Now all is good with them.

    I face a problem for my PayPal account.
    Recently I create a PayPal account fro use but for my country region it is impossible to use PayPal but very needed for my business. SO how can I use a verify account ?

      Assuming you have logged into your paypal acct and found the limitation listed there - and found the required info to submit listed there....in other words that this isn't only an email that might be suspicious...

      What is an ID card for - if not to verify your ID? What is your alternative - to tell Paypal it's none of their business who you are and where you live? Of course not.

      On this forum I've noticed several new members in the past couple of days who are listing themselves as having a location of "US" or a State in the US....and are posting from IP's on the other side of the world.

      Those same people think nothing of providing false info to paypal and other services to get the accts they want. Paypal frequently asks for verification - and as long as you can show you are who and where you say - you won't have a problem.

      Minor problem - solve it and move on.

    Yes i had to do that a few years ago as well.
    If you're in Europe i think it's required to send them this info after you've reached a certain amount in your Paypal account. Just make sure it is in fact Paypal that sent you the email and not someone trying to steal your info.
    You can probably see if that's the case by logging into Paypal directly (and not from an external link) and see if there's a notice about this on your dashboard.
    If the email is legit i don't think there's a way around this if you want to keep using your account.

    PayPal is an online bank, so they are required to ask this.
    In my case, I had to provide similar documents once my account reached €2000 or so.
    Make sure you're logged in to PayPal to upload the requested docs.

    I once logged into the wrong account by mistake. I logged out and tried to log in to the correct account but it wouldn't let me until I verified my ID by sending them a picture of it and a recent bank statement.

    I wasn't the least bit perturbed - they are looking out for me, after all.

    This happened to me a while back because I switched from personal to business account. Sucked because I couldn't make any payments till I sorted it out and they require a tonne of 'proof'.

    Anyways, I'd say it's safe. I did it and there were no problems.

      As others have stated above, DO NOT RESPOND DIRECTLY THROUGH THE EMAIL.

      Log in, look for messages there, follow through.

      Fake PayPal emails are rampant, complete with fake email reply addresses and web site addresses. They are often sent out by the same blokes who send the winning lottery notification scam emails. Never, ever answered one directly.

    Do you have any idea about the money laundering law? If you want to use the full features of the Paypal or, Skrill , you need to verify your account. Before verifying your account, you will not be allowed to use the full function. your account will be a limitation of transferring & receiving & withdrawal money.

    So it is legal & ethical to support for verification y giving ID card, Any utility bill's copy or, some other documents. Thanks a lot.
