Work full-time on website or live a better lifestyle to make more money?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to make more money quicker and I have 2 choices:

1 - live in a fancier place where I would still need to freelance a few hours per day.

2 - live in a cheaper place where I could work on my own website full-time.

I'm confused about what to do.

Only working a few hours per day for clients and the rest of my time on my website doesn't sound too bad, and the place I would be living would be more enjoyable.

But I'm wondering if there is a certain mindset shift when you work on your business full-time vs being more productive because of where you live.

What would you do?

I would go with #1. You might as well enjoy the luxury that money has gotten you.... before it's too late. You never know what life might throw at you.

I would go to work full time and save some money. And on the nights, weekends, or time off work on your own website. It will take time for your website to earn money so having a monthly payment job will help you lower the stress and also finance your online business.

    Option 2

I see option 1 as putting up roadblocks. If - if - you're confident that you have the necessary skills to successfully develop an online business then I advocate going without in favour of potentially never having to go without once you're successful. I've known plenty of newbies arrive who knew zilch and built up their business with blood, sweat, and tears to eventually become the players. On a less grand scale, however, there is a distinct correlation between IM success and dogged determination. Option 2 might be the psychological "Yes, I will do this" that you need, or it might - on a more practical level - simply free up the capital you need to attain success that much quicker.

#2 definitely you can have #1 at a later date when your business is doing well.

Less bills equals less stress so you can concentrate on what you have to do and that is building a successful business.

    Good luck!

I've done it both ways - moved ahead in the lifestyle and worked enough to pay for it - and dumped the lifestyle and chilled out.

I prefer the second. I like the lack of stress - the lack of pressure - working when I please. Maybe it's because I've had the "stuff" and know it doesn't count for much in the long run.

The conclusion I came to is this: If you win the rat race, you're still a rat. If you don't want to join the rat race, you have to step off the treadmill.

Spot on. Its funny to see a lot of the young people who think the "stuff" is the end all be all.
And if you acquire the "stuff" you will be automatically happy.

My oh my the years will teach you that this is so untrue

I have been working to others by which I am getting paid money & rest time I have developing my site. I think it is the best way to develop myself for future. In this way, you are earning money beside the money you are going to ready for your site. So I support this way. I am following this way also. Thanks a lot.

  • I think you should put yourself in the environment that suits your ultimate goals best, whatever that is. For example, if you want to lose weight, and you only had 2 choices to place your bed: a donut factory or a health food store, then you wouldn't place your bed in the donut factory. If however, you are trying to gain weight then the donut factory is obviously the better option. So which of your 2 options would allow you to make the most money the quickest? Only you can answer that but thats the option you should go for.
