Before I get into this post let me just ask you something. Do you ever get sick of coming to the WF after a big launch and seeing 2500 posts talking about it? It happens to me a lot, so let me just apologize for this post in advance. I posted about a week ago that I wasn't going to buy the Stompernet launch. I started to but the upsells and everything turned me off so I said forget it. Well today they pulled me back in and I bought....way more than I should have. Here's what happened. I got an email that was actually in my SPAM folder that Stompernet had just added $10,000 worth of bonuses. So, I figured I'd go back and check it out. Make a note of that, because it was a really cool strategy. It added a ton of value to their product while simultaneously giving all their JV/Affiliates a reason to re email all their lists. Very Cool. The email I got also offered to reimburse me the $10 for shipping. So when I went to the site I figured I'd sign up, get the bonuses, and move on. I already knew all the upsells were coming, so I figured I'd just skip them all. However, I found out they made a change to the process. At least I think it was a change. After filling out my email info and everything I was taken to their first upsell page. Now if I remember correctly the last time I was here, there was button on the bottom of the page to get the upsell. This is where I said I'm not going through all this and left. This time there was an order from at the bottom. I filled out the info checked the box to get my product and submitted the form. Now I never read sales letters, so I didn't realize this until just now when I was going back through the sales process, but that check box wasn't to get the product it was actually to get the first upsell. After that I was taken to the first upsell and got it. $97 and they sold it really well. Buy any one disc half off and we'll give you the other four for free. Now I know logically that I'm really paying $97 for all five discs, but I could get past the other for Free. So, I bought it. The next upsell was all the training videos for $297. I said No to this. This was meant to be a $9.95 decision and I was already up to over a $100. There was no way I was going any farther. Next came the downsell. It was a good sell too. All of the same info as the $297 upsell, but only $147 because it was a "official" copy. It was a press copy. I still said no, because I didn't want to spend any more money, but like I said it was a great downsell. Anyway, that's how Stompernet got me and to be perfectly honest, as much as I'm looking forward to the info. Just watching the sales process in action was worth it. Now it's just time to "steal" the process. I'm working on my ideas already. Hope you all will take action too. |

Jay, not even for the free STSE 2? $10 would have been worth the investment. Of course then you have to be strong enough to say no to everything else. ![]() Anyway, if you love the process, you love this... So after I made this post, I left for about three hours to take care of some work. While I was out, I had an epiphany. I need to save this sales process so I can duplicate it. When I got home I went back through all the pages, (using the back button. The last page was still up in my browser) and printed them out. I have adobe professional, so I printed them all into pdf files. It's awesome. I think I'm missing a page or two from the entire process and I don't have copies of the videos but I definitely have enough to learn from. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. I should have been printing out every sales page I went to. Well lesson learned...hint hint. |

That's interesting that you all enjoyed the sales process. I was thinking the same thing. They are obviously constantly testing new methods, because I bought too and I went through an entirely different process. They 1st teased you by sending out a teaser video through all thier networking friends. They would not allow you to purchase anything for several days. When the day came they had a specific time that it would be available. When you went to the site they kept moving the time back a few hours. I hate it when they keep upselling you. and they didn't do that this time. they told you everything you were going to get upfront on the video. which included stompernet 2 for Free. Anyway I'm can't wait to dive in, but the point is they KNOW How to market. |

I'm with you Jay. I think the graphics was actually soothing on the eyes with the size font and color graphics they used. I did not mind going up and down (upsell and downsell) because it became exciting to see what was possible to get. Can anyone else nail the process down so we can figure out why it was so enjoyable - I should've taken screenshots of the process ![]() |

I got it too, but I was hell-bent on NOT getting drawn into the upsells, so I kept looking for the "No Thanks" buttons. They do know how to sell the hell out of their products... big props to the StomperNet folks... telling you all of the stuff that you're missing out on when you say "No Thanks". |

There was quite a bit of hype around this launch as well as the "delay" which I found quite interesting. There's nothing like creating a surge of interest and demand.... You guys have sparked off some interest so I think I will sign up and go through the process.... What's the best way of capturing the sales process? - using screen capture or printing to pdf? Regards Greg |

For all your swipe filing needs on the fly... Here it is & free to boot. ![]() Firefox plus this add-on. It actually quite impressive what the developers of this thing have done with it since the first version I downloaded a year and a bit ago. It has many more cool uses, but that one is relevant to the original question. HTH, --Jay |

My pleasure Greg. ![]() Sometimes I take for granted the dorky, yet useful things I have amassed over time. This one works for FF 2.x.x & 3.x.x for anyone viewing this thread FYI. I just dropped back down to FF2 the other day--too many issues with Version 3 I don't like atm. Good Luck. --Jay |

Odd that nobody replied to you on that - Wow. There are tons of reviews on the free offer. Just go to Google and type in "Stomping the Search Engines 2.0" or "Stomping the Search Engines 2.0 Review" and you should get plenty of details. I ordered it too, and set up my cam to video the process. You can see that video at the link in my sig if you want a behind-the-scenes view. |

But that doesn't mean you can't learn a ton of stuff just from watching this or any launch. I'd post more, but I have to go. Make you can share you're insights into the mindset while I'm gone.

Your assumption was that we were looking at this from a perspective of intent to duplicate... au contraire my friend... Collectively, most of us found it a pleasure to travel the process and were simply discussing how we might learn from it.. I'm not into copying ANYthing... from ANYone...and duplicating someone's sales process ain't my thing either... It was a sexy process to observe... Peace Jay p.s. You also assumed that we are clueless when it comes to what goes into a sales trip like that...which is wrong.

And for the record, I never "mooched" off of StomperNet. I did attend their last two live events as a Guest - but not as *their* guest. A very good friend of mine is a member, and members are allowed to invite one guest. I spent my own money to travel, room and attend the events so that I could get a better feel for the company. Also worth noting is that they havent been open for me to join as a member since I made the decision to do so. I even ordered their products with my own money, even though I have review copies. I refuse to reply to Davebo directly anymore, but if there's ever any question otherwise I dont mind at all to give an honest answer on it...

Hi, Seldom did I see people this excited after just spending a hundred bucks they did not intend to spend :-) The 'process' that the Stompernet guys are using isn't new, by the way. I know Mike Filsaime has been doing this for a while now. First upsells and if you pass on those you get the downsells. It's very clever. Although I'm thinking maybe this type of sales process has a limited shelftime, as people - if they really want only the product they came for - are forced to say 'no' as much as 5 or 6 times and may at some point become annoyed with that? But maybe I'm wrong and folks will just get used to it. The technique of offering something for just shipping & handling but having a paid newsletter or membership attached to it is also something that is becoming more common place. Again, very clever. As the whole Stompernet process is clever, but nothing new really. They just used existing techniques very well and were able to create a big buzz because they managed to get it promoted all over the place, and they are no doubt making a killing with it. Always smart to look at successful campaigns and see what you can learn from it. Take care, Jim B. |
