(Question) Regarding RSS Feeds

Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone could help me here with some information.

I have 1 major concern as to the rss feeds.

Let's say for example sake I take rss feeds from buzfeed, 9gag, Etc and repost them on my site via rss, "Is this not copyright infringement?" because from what I have heard it still comes with copyright and is only another way to access the or view the material.

Reposting these rss feeds on your site without their permission would be classed as "copyright infringement", and even worse if your displaying ads and making a nice sum of money from this, they would really frown upon and most likely take you to court.

Then if you re post your posts to facebook and twitter and your site turns out to be quite big you're your sure to be noticed by the original rss feed posters as mentioned above and will most likely send you a nasty letter or even worse take you to court because you have been making money from it..

Would anyone have any ideas as to this?

Could you just spin the content to make it a little different?

Would you have to curate every post and the entire content to make it legal?

Or would it be ok to just let the rss feeds run?

Thanks

The question you need to ask yourself is why? Why go through all of this effort to try and copy other people's content?

You would be much better off writing your own content and using the posts in your RSS feed for topic ideas and research.

Plus, why would someone want to go to your website and read a bunch of re-posted articles? If someone was actually looking for that, they would probably already have it set up in their RSS reader.

Regardless of the legality, I'm pretty sure you can bring more to the world of online readers.
