Business suggestions for a sleep-deprived mother

Hi All

In 2016 I face the prospect of looking after a toddler and a newborn on a shoe-string budget. To keep my finances on-track and my mind away from day-time TV, I want to set up a business that requires minimal maintenance but will actively push me to check on it (and interact with adults) each day.

The problem is that I will be operating on little-to-no sleep with two demanding children each day. So the business has to be robust enough operate on a hour or two of input a day.

Where would you begin? What courses would you recommend? I am not looking to make a six-figure income (nice though that would be), but something small, easy and sustainable.

TIA

Nat

Top of mind I'd say sell at Ebay or Amazon FBA.

I just thought that you could get more ideas from the same community--how they do and what they do...

Services like freelance writing are excellent for stay at home moms. I think you need to join some WAHM sites like Work From Home - Work at Home Jobs, Recipes & Articles For Moms - WAHM.com to see how real parents are working at home.

One of the things you hear from call girls is that many times the client isn't really looking for sex. They're looking for someone they can just talk with, without judgment or possible repercussions.

Perhaps you could provide an online, G or PG rated version of this. Set up could be fairly simple, using Skype, Google Hangouts, or something similar. For a couple of hours a day, you simply go online and chat with people, listen to them.

Maybe even target other women in situations similar to yours. One thing I've heard many times is that being a stay-at-home mom is rewarding, but these moms crave adult conversation.

Perhaps you could help fill the void and serve your own needs at the same time?

lol, best of luck to you...

I would start with affiliate marketing. Either get yourself a completed system that 10,000 other people are promoting or learn to separate yourself from your competition by creating your own funnels and offering your custom bonuses leading into your affiliate program.

Works like a charm everytime... Well almost everytime ;-)

Start a blog and plot your journey of being an entrepreneur-mother-of-two. When you find something that works great, share it with others.

I'm sure there are a lot of mothers out there that would like advice on improving their productivity from a mother's perspective. Go out and find the results, then share them with the world.

To help on the interaction side of things, join an online Mastermind. It'll help you and provide you with new people to interact with and get to know.

    Best of luck!

First Nat, you should send me your phone number cause you look hella fine. But only if you're a REAL woman. People online will fake you out in all kinds of ways.

    Second... LOL

Third... 1-2 hours per day? The only kind of online businesses I can recommend for selling on line are:

    1) Selling ebooks

    2) Get started in affiliate marketing

Once you have everything set up, and the automation tools are in place.... you seriously would only need 1-2 hours to maintain it and make it grow every month.

These are lifestyle businesses. With affiliate marketing though, I'm not a fan of joining an affiliate network, and sell 1 product... and then you don't get paid anymore after that one-time sale. If you're going to pursue affiliate marketing, join a program (like web hosting) where you get paid month after month for as long as the buyer remains a member.

Good luck though, and be sure to send me that number. Holla

The blogging idea may work for you. FBA has been a success for myself but it could take more of your time than you want it to, depending on exactly how you proceed. Using this forum as a research tool, use the search box, may help you form specific ideas.

Something that doesn't take a lot of TIME.

Something that doesn't take a lot of INTENSE PERSONAL INVOLVEMENT.

Something that doesn't take a lot of FINANCIAL INVESTMENT.

Something that is in line with what you are ALREADY DOING.

Something that allows for MOMENTARY DISTRACTIONS.

This is the shape of the animal you are looking for.

So no coaching, unless it is in a realm like child-raising that you are already comfortable in, and it can't take more than a couple hours a day. Overall I would stay away from coaching.

You can resell things...find a source of supply that is cheaper than what you'll sell it for (including shipping), and get the order and payment for the item before you buy it.

Products in areas you already know about are best.

Something reasonably high ticket ($100+) so you don't have to order & ship many to make some money.

You can write articles and sell them as PLR (Private Label Rights) content, if you're a writer. Again, pick a topic you already know about.

You can't do something that requires a lot of involvement, energy, fact-checking...you'll make too many mistakes if so because of your sleep situation. So do something that is measured, allows for interruption, and that you don't have to deliver on immediately after it is ordered.

Keep your eyes open for the animal that fits this shape!
