Payment account/Shopping cart outside the US

Hi,

What are the options for someone living outside the US for receiving payments or setting up a shopping cart?

I have a verified Paypal account and can receive payments to it but cannot withdraw the money as Paypal needs a US bank account. I currently can only use my Paypal balance to make purchases online.

I can withdraw my funds from PP into my Canadian bank account.

Maybe "outside US" is not specific enough to get a useful reply...

You can withdraw into many different country accounts. I live in Australia and draw into my Australian account.

Here is a good tutorial on it to help you.

You should also be able to apply for a PayPal debit card and get your money out that way.

Really depends on where you live. I have no problems with this stuff being an Australian, but if you live in Nigeria or Afghanistan, you might have to come up with a more creative solution.

    Where do you live?

I live in Saudi Arabia. But not being a citizen here, I cannot open a business or merchant account.

The Paypal debit card sounds like a good idea. Is it like an ATM card that I can use to withdraw funds?

Yes, it is just like a ATM/Visa card with no credit. You can set your pin number in your PayPal control panel. I have had one for many years now and it has worked great for a way to pull money out of my account without having to wait for the days long process of it moving into my business bank account.

I checked out the Paypal debit card. But their eligibility requirements require you to have a 'linked bank account to the Paypal account' which pretty much rules out getting one for the original purpose of this thread.
