Am I stupid for promoting a site with no product? My original idea was to just keep adding free content and keep promoting traffic before I start trying to reach into peoples pockets. Should I be promoting a product right off the bat?

I think I mentioned this before, there is no harm in having a few ads on your website.

You don't have to promote them but have a few branded products on the site!

If I had a techy site I would want to be associated with big companies like Microsoft etc!

What is the logic in having ads later rather than now. By all means have exceptional content and brand yourself. If money is no issue don't have any ads, if it is pocket money can help you do more things like outsource and create a better environment for your readers

    my 2cents!

    I wouldn't call anyone stupid.

Its a good question. If you have few visitors then no one will see or buy it anyway. But your website must be part of a plan - I'm assuming you have some idea of where you want the site to be in a years time.

If you want to build a list then give a short report relevant to the theme in the meantime.

    What is your game plan?

Well my idea was. build up an E-Mail list then write a review on some aff. product and post it up. I don't actually have a product. But I was scared by pushing to soon might scare some people off from signing up for the newsletter thinking its a scam.
