It really depends on your budget.
You can start low you can start high.

It all depends on your approach if you want to earn money fast or want to make an idea and get it to work more like a trial and error phase.

You can play around. There are a lot of free webinars and videos that can teach you a lot. But at the end of the day you're going to have to lay down some cash, whether it's for PPC advertising, Autoresponder Service, Landing Page Company, Web Hosting, Solo Ads, Website Development and/or a variety of other opportunities advertised here on the Forum.

For the PPC advertising that your referring to, I'd do some experimentation with Bing/Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, Google Adwords. There are a lot of the less expensive ad services, but figuring out which ones are on the level and have truly have target traffic can be time consuming. There are some recommendations for these on other posts.

To get to the chase, I'd invest about $200 on PPC to start, and A/B test which ads perform the best, at what cost and and on which platform. I'd give it about a month and then determine which direction you'd like to pursue and what is within your budget.

      Good Luck

Is it true that google adwords does not allow you to make campaigns for affiliate offers?

Your google adwords acct will get banned if you use it for affiliate marketing.

There are cheap ways to do affiliate marketing (all depends on your niche).

Get a mentor that will take you.
It will be a much better to learn from someone rather than wasting your money like others who got information overload and don't know what they are doing.

It really depends where your targeted audience lives.

If you start in the USA and your targeted audience weight loss, believe me you need a lot of money.

But if your targeted audience is in the north-east of Russia and you want to sell beach stretchers in the winter, you can start with a much lower budget.

To really crush it and to be successful in affiliate marketing. You will need a domain, hosting, autoresponder and a budget for paid traffic (solo ads, facebook ads).

Wow... It's amazing that after a decade, I am still astonished at what ridiculous advise is given to beginners in this forum.

Anyone who doesn't know the basics of online business, should NOT be dropping $10,000 for paid traffic.

Before anyone can properly answer this question, you will need to decide how you are going to communicate with your audience.

      * Do you have a website this traffic will be sent to? Some paid traffic sources won't let you directly promote an affiliate link. Others will, but the traffic may not convert due to a lack of interest, knowledge, or trust.

      * Are you building a list from your traffic? If not, all the money you spend on traffic is a one shot deal. If you build a list, you'll have a source of traffic that has already shown an interest in your niche.

Before you ask how to combine Affiliate Marketing and Paid Traffic, you need to answer a lot of other questions. Do you even know what niche/market you are targeting?

Man am glad Teravel spoke up cus I was blow away at some of the responses that I read. There are many different kinds of traffic that matches up with affiliate marketing. Some are really cheap but usually cheap isn't always good.

The trick in buying traffic is getting a good source for your money. I have spent a lot of money with trail and error and I suspect you will have to do the same. Just do research on what service your looking at. Ask around .. join some FB groups that are about traffic sources and mingle.

As for affiliate marketing and adwords I found this on another thread and it might help a lot of us understand this misguided info ...

        1. You CAN direct link to affiliate offers.
        2. You CAN have affiliate links on your website if you follow the bloody rules.

Here is the affiliate policy and Restricted Category Policy:

        https://support.google.com/adwordspo...er/45068?hl=en
        https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/topic/1308252

Search is fine there is no double serving if direct linking but rather "Ad Rank"
So if you want to compete with others you can, expect competition.
        Same goes for Display.

Here is their quality guidelines for LP's: (Direct Link or to Your Website)

        https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2404197?hl=en

So yeah if your trying to sling shitty products like an opportunist on clickbank that DON'T meet the guidelines then expect to be punished. (very few do but some will get by)
Same goes for CPA offers if you are going to direct link, ask yourself this:

Does the merchant/advertiser comply with these policies?
Are they likely to modify their LP which would become uncompliant with these policies?
Am I or the merchant making stupid claims that are unverified?

If you are going to send traffic through your site ask yourself:

Do I have a legit contact, privacy policy, maybe disclosure and TOS tucked neatly out of the way but still "there"

To be honest I would want a full built site with a dedicated PPC campaign or direct link to something compliant but thats up to you.

So what have we learned today? (And I really hope people read this!)

Most people who automatically dismiss adwords as a death trap are ignorant.
They don't take time to educate themselves correctly.
You can do the above just pick "LEGITIMATE" things to promote that are compliant.
It's stupid to think google hate affiliates, it doesn't matter if you are a sole affiliate marketer or an Agency spending over $100,000 per day on their platform, the rules are the SAME for everyone. (Used to work closely with Google when I managed key accounts I now promote affiliate offers)

Sorry if offended anyone but I got sick of seeing this shit everywhere from uneducated ignorant people.
I personally ring Google every time i want to launch an offer and tell them exactly what I'm going to do and work through any issues they might have BEFORE I go live.
This way I make sure I'm not putting my account at risk or my other campaigns.

Stop being lazy get on the phone eek out everything with them and also make sure you are confident what you are going to promote is compliant.

Otherwise go ahead and cloak, If you wanna run gambling etc well it doesn't matter to me as long as your making money I personally just don't want the headache of constant accounts.

Stay compliant as well as ensuring your offers are and you have massive quality volume at your feet.

I hope this helps ... good luck and much success.

The issue isn't the money, but the targeting.

You can waste a lot of money really fast with lousy targeting.

From experience, I'd say $3000 minimum to get access to an opted-in email list asking for things like what you promote.

But first you have to define your target, and prove there are buyers for your offer at your price point. If you don't do this first, you're definitely at extremely high risk for wasting your money.

It really depends on the market your targeting as well. If you're shooting for investments and really anything financial your PPC costs are going to be outrageous.

It's gonna come down to targeting and how much content marketing (blogging) you want to do. It's more of a long term strategy, but also the least expensive one out there. Of course, you can also build up a following on social with Instagram or Facebook for a relatively low amount.

Bare minimum, you'll need $20ish just to get set up with a domain and hosting. To be honest though, that's really not going to get you very far.

if we're talking about paid traffic like Solo ads, PPV, media Buying, PPC and so on... You can easily spend thousands of dollars on your marketing campaigns in a week or even a day.

Of course, there are also costs for tools and resources as well. I personally would always recommend a starting budget of at least $500 if you are starting from scratch

    Hope this helps

      You guys crack me up.

Seriously... How can you suggest static sums of cash as a base line, when you know NOTHING about his business?

How much money do I need to start affiliate marketing...
None. You can start without spending a penny.

      and use paid traffic?
How much do you want to spend? You don't need paid traffic to be successful.

The truth is, you need to know more of the basics before you jump into spending money on traffic.

      For example:

      * Have you chosen a niche?
      * Do you have a website?
      * Do you have any other web properties?
      * Do you have a basic understanding of your target audience?
      * Do you know how to create a converting lead funnel?

Without this knowledge, no amount of money is going to make you successful. Dropping loads of money on traffic, without some basics in place, is like burning money. It may give you a warm feeling, but it won't put food on the table.

If we're just talking about the paid traffic, you don't really need more than a few hundred dollars to get results. You can check out offers from sources like ultimatewebtraffic or yourtraffichits to see that they can be pretty affordable for the thousands of visitors they offer. Then again, there are the other stuff which I can't help you with.

If you want to start, start with $100. You can do some quick and easy advertising, test your squeeze page, test your offer, etc. If you have to get a job to fund your business, then get a job. Do what you need to do so that you can do what you want to do.

First of all you have to make a plan. and think how will be your site, how will be your visitor and how you convert them.

And as much you spend as much benefit will come. but make sure, you have use your money properly.

I think for simple project 100$ is ok. but you need more if you want a better ..

Obviously the more money you have, the better haha My advice is take what money you have and start "testing".

Join a safelist for free all the way up to $200...start sending out some ads.

Create a You Tube channel and use Camtasia to create some content to start advertising.

Join a traffic exchange like Traffic Swarm and start testing. (free up to $30)

If you have a few more dollars, try out some solo ads.

You have a lot of options but the biggest I advice I have is to just jump in with whatever knowledge/experience and money you have, and just start trying things out. It's what I did when I first got started
