Hi Guys,

I was recently running a website as an Amazon Affiliate and about a week ago they closed my account. At first they didn't tell me why, only that i was

"You are not in compliance with Participation Requirement Number 27
because you are automatically starting sessions on an Amazon Site tagged
with your Associates ID in order to artificially increase your
advertising ".

When I checked what this was, it was about starting sessions that would falsely increase the number of hits to Amazon. When I tried to investigate they told me in another email that it was due to my linking to an image and then pulling in content from the Amazon store.

This is what the Wordpress Plugin Azon Authority does. Azon had said at the beginning that it was compliant with Amazon, but Amazon closed my account and took my earnings.

Does anyone know if Azon is to blame here or what I should do next? I have begged Amazon to reopen my account but they have refused.

My research indicates that AzonAuthority does, indeed, create this problem, but you should check it for yourself.

With the plugin installed, your site is dropping an Amazon cookie when the visitor arrives on any page/post, even if they never click an Amazon link on your site.

    To test this for yourself:
    1. delete cookies from your browser
    2. check to make sure that no Amazon cookie is present
    3. then navigate to your site
    4. check the cookies again (without ever clicking on any of your Amazon links).

Remove the plugin from your site, and repeat the above steps to see the difference with/without the plugin.

Damn, I didn't know this was happening. I have disabled the plugin so it doesn't happen anymore, but it caused me a whole lot of pain. This is against Amazon's rules so my beef is with Azon, as they caused the breach in the rules.

      Thanks for checking

That sux. Are you looking for other Wordpress plugins for affiliate marketing? I'm curious as to how this happened because I'm interested in using similar plugins. Can you create a new account or have a family member help you out?

I read elsewhere on this forum that it is a bad idea to create a new account. It really sucks because I had just started out in afflifation and lost about 300 dollars. I think I will try and get my money back from Azon, unless this have fixed this.

I checked the latest update and it appears that they have removed the option to drop the cookie. Too late for me though.
