The Ugly Side Of Affiliate Marketing

One of the things that many brand new and experienced internet marketers do to make money online with affiliate programs is that they work hard, sometimes spend a ton of money on ads, and are happy when someone buys and earns them a ONE time commission of let's say $20-$60.

I am not referring to the work at home and make money online niche only. I am talking about ANY niche.

That is what I used to do. Get paid $20-$60 and I was happy because that is what my mentor taught me to do and earn.

The one thing I learned over the years is that if you are not selling products that can make you more money from upsells, you are leaving a lot of money to be wasted.

If you can get a commission of $20-$60 and then offer your new customer more similar products in the back end, your income can soar. You don't have to do it yourself, the product that you are promoting should have this integrated into their system. If they don't, don't promote the product. Find another product that offers more commissions.

So instead of just earning $20-$60 per sale, you are now able to earn anywhere between $100 more and even a couple of HUNDREDS/THOUSANDS of dollars more per customer.

From my own experience, if you believe that you can earn more from upsells then you will.

You make a very strong argument for creating one's own products. I've always been of the opinion that it is better to be handing out commissions rather than collecting commissions because you have more control over the entire customer selling process - front end, back end, and even recurring and passive if you know how to set it up. And maybe most importantly, you have an asset that can be "sold off" if you decide to move on to other things.

    Just my thoughts,

    Hi,

In today's market I see many launches in the I.M./MMO niche particularly
offering some kind of group coaching or coaching one on one.

These offer people to get one on one attention and help with the front
end product(s) they've purchased from the product creator.

A quick tip is to look at the product creators funnel either at JV Zoo or
Warrior Plus and look at the potential earnings per sale prior to promoting
    it.

People get caught up with the conversion rates.

It's the EPC's that count or - Earnings Per Click.

    What's your ideal EPC rate?

    Is it $0.60, $0.80, $1.00, $2.00, or even $3,00+

Either way it has to worth your time promoting any product you wish
to either as an affiliate or indeed your own.

Very good point op...upselling in a sense is what makes affiliate marketing and online sales more interesting...Strategic online marketers understand that customers are more likely to increase their purchase while already in “buying mode.” So, it's important to get a product that'll offer more chances to make money...

Amazing advice. Alot of people spend their time and money on a product that only offers a little bit of money.... in comparison to the hundreds of dollars spent in making the sale. If you can't get that money back.... how will you succeed? You could be making $100 a day from 1-time commissions, but in truth... you're spending $500 a day to make $100 !?!??! You're actually LOSING money! $400 per day.

Recurring commissions is the key, residuals... chasing for new sales every month from ground zero with no base of previous monthly sales giving you commissions... Might as well go sell cars at a car lot...

Back end follow up sales are important, even better if they offer a monthly or annual residual, affiliates can earn like they own the place...

I love affiliate and network marketing sales, love hybrid programs even more... all the benefits of mlm, with the ability to promote as an affiliate, no join fees or monthly for affiliates, but DEEP commission like mlm.

      That's very true.

If you can find a product in your niche that had both residual income and upsells income, stick with it and promote that for maximum profit.
