Dog chasing his tail!

Hi everyone,

I have been a member here for a long while now and i have to say i am going round in circles like a dog chasing his tail! I seem to be doing things over and over again. Looking at the Warrior forum, buying offers etc,

I can make a web page, blog, buy a domain, ftp, etc I just can't make it work.
I have bought more than my fair share of WSO's etc. Facebook advertising (forget it)!

SEO on 5r, I actually had a full time job doing SEO for a web company years ago until they cottoned on and pinched my ideas.

I am so envious of some of the posts I see here that get thousands of replies, and WSO's selling big time.

I would love to post a WSO here but it is so expensive (not that I have a WSO), and the post disappears by the time you come home from doing my stressful job. So it costs you more money to get it back to the top of the first page! If you haven't made a sale then its not worth re posting!

I guess this is what we have all been through at some stage.

I would love to know the QUICKEST way to put some plan into action just to make a few dollars/pounds. I am getting to the stage where I am going to totally give up on Internet Marketing.

Ok now I know some of you are going to say there is no quick way to riches, that is not what I am looking for.

I have bought WSO's on Mobile marketing, videos, building a list (I would love a list)!!!!
I cant buy anymore!

I am not looking to make a million dollars but just something I can wake up to in the morning and see in my PayPal account that I made $50 overnight.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

    Focus.

It sounds like you've got more than enough knowledge to get going in the right direction but are suffering from information overload.

Pick an area you enjoy and that stands a chance of making money (you won't know for sure until you do it but you can get a feel for it).

Then focus on it for the next few months - to the exclusion of other things, so don't go off buying yet another offer to fill in the gaps, chances are high you already know what needs to be done so apply that knowledge.

And if you really can do SEO that works in today's market, use that to promote any site you create.

As for posting a WSO, check Warrior Plus and JVZoo and you'll find that most of the offers are self hosted rather than appearing as a full WSO.

Thank you for your response. Yes, information overload is a big problem these days and I nearly bought another WSO tonite that was in my inbox!

I have found recently that one thing i can do is write. I can reply to an email and go on for a while. So maybe now I need to find a subject and stick to it and create something.

If you have much experience in seo, I would
suggest you make a wso providing seo services.
If you don't want to get into product creating you
can use your skills to make an affiliate based site
    like amazon.

    All the best!

Pick ONE group of people with a significant problem you can solve.

Solving it by an affiliate product is fine.

The group has to acknowledge the problem is real.

Build content that demonstrates you understand the problem.

Use that content to attract people who are experiencing that problem. Capture them as leads.

Market your understanding of that problem to them. Show them you "get it".

    Offer them a solution.

    Too often people rush this.

Dumping an unqualified lead off at the sales page is a pretty bad idea.

Every time you jump to a new thing, you go back to zero.

Thanks for the help and info, I could do that I guess but getting traffic is a problem right from the start. I know people say, build a blog, (I prefer a web page - easier to handle for me)!

      I don't have a list, so its catch 22?

        It's not catch22 at all.

I could do that I guess but getting traffic is a problem right from the start. I know people say, build a blog, (I prefer a web page - easier to handle for me)!
So build an html site - your choice. All Google sees is "a website" - not "an html site" or "a blog". Doesn't matter - but it does matter that you build something!

Do you have any site (or blog) that you have added to and worked on during all this time you've been trying out things and buying WSOs? How many sites have you built so far and what happened to them?

Of course getting traffic is a Problem - until you start getting traffic. If you know SEO and a few basics from WSOs you've purchased...you can position your sites to get traffic. It's not rocket science but it does take focus and patience to keep working on a project until you make it succeed.

EDIT: Your signature does not match your thread topic - if you can show people how to build a life changing income with zero start up cost - where's the problem? Not being nasty - I'm serious. It doesn't make sense.

Kay, he's promoting an affiliate product using the "fake it until you make it" approach. When I saw the affiliate disclaimer, I didn't bother with the video. My guess is this is one of the shiny objects he's failing at...

Your attacking it at the wrong angle...

Your expecting to build a quick website with a few articles on it find some magical source of traffic and send it to the site and they buy like crazy and your rich...

    That will never happen

    Instead

Build a blog... It's actually easier than building a website you can start it off with one post and build on it by posting 1 time everyday.

Pick a topic that you know and you really love... This will make it easier to post to your blog daily. If you are blogging about something you don't love it will feel like a job instead of sharing.

You may not want to blog, but if you have a facebook page then you are already blogging.

Now you market your blog to people interested in your topic...

One way is to make up a quick guide to help people with a problem in your topic and give it to them in exchange for email (list building)

Then send people who are on your list back to your blog...

Build a relationship with your list and your blog viewers and promote stuff to them that will help them

    $$$ will come

    round and round we go!

Well at least you see this and want to make a change. It's amazing how many people keep doing the same thing over and over without getting any results.

    Learn about traffic! Paid traffic

Free traffic is for hobbiest and its not a way to run a successful online business!

Something that is working well for me is script calls. People call a phone number with a recording on it that talks about my opportunity and when they leave a message asking for more information I send it to them.

Out of around 50 calls or so I'll get a few paid leads that is a residual payment. I'm using this approach for a opportunity I am part of promoting household goods.

Physical products. Pays a lower commission than a digital but its so much easier to get the sale!

    Gary,

It seems to me that you bought a lot of courses and have no real direction as to what you should do.

I am going to make things REALLY simple for you if you are thinking about making money online with affiliate programs.

    1. Register your own domain name (Make sure that you add the keyword of the niche is your domain. So if you are in the dog training niche, buy something like garyteachesdogtraining.com)

    2. Once you do that, tell people a little about you on your home page and how you want to help them with their "problem". At the bottom of your message, add a link to a RECOMMENDED product.

    3. Now, don't just add ANY product as your affiliate link. Make sure that they offer that you are selling as an affiliate can pay you some sort of a residual commission and/or offers some sort of upsells so instead of just earning a small $10-$50 one time commission, you can now earn both residual income and anywhere between $100 and all the way up to $500 per new customer.

    4. Once you add that to your site, go with paid ads on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Facebook pay per click. Make sure you start really small with your ads ($5 per day or something like that) If you are not sure how to do pay per click ads, now is the time to buy a course that shows you how to effectively advertise and be profitable.

Many thanks for the advice, best one so far apart from a couple of other guys further up the page who mentioned something similar.

I really see no point at all with people coming on my thread attacking my signature for no reason other than to post their own. My signature has been on all my other posts just like you guys so back off. Not helpful at all.

Gary, the problem wasn't that you had a signature. As you pointed out, we have sigs, too.

Where you went wrong was having a signature promising a way to make a zillion dollars following a post asking how to make $50/day because nothing you've tried worked for you. You're far from the first to get caught out in this Catch 22, and I doubt you're anywhere near the last.

People see the contradiction and wonder why you aren't using the method you promote if it works so well. So calling you out on it is doing you a favor of sorts. If you pull the sig, like I see you've done, the contradiction goes away and people are more likely to take your request for help seriously.

        In that spirit...

        1. Find a group of people with an urgent want that you can help them with. SEO is always a big topic around here, so if you have experience as a professional SEO, that has value. You could likely make some affiliate money helping people sort out the good info from the "anything for a buck" BS. Your professional experience gives you credibility.

        2. Start a blog about doing SEO the right way. Curate content from the leading SEO sources along with your own commentary. Build a list by exchanging a weekly digest of the best you've found, along with supplemental materials. For example, you find the "ultimate guide to list building." For a blog post, you point to the article and give your own comments. At the end, you make an offer - you've created a checklist for your own use, and you'll share a pdf version in exchange for an email address. Subscribers get the pdf and your weekly digest.

        3. Post the link and offer to your blog's Facebook page. Try a promoted post, and include anyone who has liked the original site's page among the audience. Drop the original author an email simply thanking him/her for the original article, and that you've posted about it on your own blog. Include the link, and invite them to check it out. No pitch, no begging for links, just a friendly notice.

        4. Rinse and repeat.

        5. Spend some time researching and trying "free" methods of getting the word out. Keep using the ones that work for you, and drop the rest. As you establish your presence, then authority, and then influence in the niche, you should see those Paypal notices growing.

I made the steps about SEO because you mentioned that you spent five years earning your daily bread doing SEO. The process will work in pretty much any niche.

I will parrot the advice to focus. FOCUS...follow one course until successful.

I see you getting ahead of yourself. No need to worry about traffic if you don't even have a solid game plan yet. I've been there myself, my friend...LOL. But don't do it to yourself. That's either fear talking or excuse-making to worry about traffic at this stage in the game.

Focus on what your niche will be. Build a site with quality content and good SEO, and the traffic will come. There are also other opportunities such as paid traffic. You can always get the traffic to your site once you've built it.

I don't have a sig for that exact reason, too many people making false claims, false hopes, and selling a lie! (Exactly why I've mocked my lack of success in my sig.)

More to the point, I could write 10 blueprints right now that I know work simply from the tests and research I've conducted. And like the OP, I too am still chasing my own tail...like a dog. Starting to think I just like lurking, and giving others advice, over that of using the knowledge!

I mean there are literally 10's of thousands of companies offering free affiate tools, email swipes, even various landing pages and free give a ways or teasers for list building.

Even still, I find it more gratifying sharing free advice, over that of getting paid.

I've been round almost as long, and keep running back to offline gigs, and each time going back to what I know offline, only builds my disgust... as I cannot possibly earn the high 5 figure to 6 figure income I used to pull down offline, without thinking.

Today's economy has damned my trade skills to $400 - $600 max per week, though I produce 10's of thousands in output per month!

All the while, I do know how to build a site, create web forms, host and deliver the products directly or through affiliate links... Write reviews, rank articles, and more... But, everytime I start a project or start developing a blog or website, I usually get to the easy part; writing content...and I hate the entire idea by then!

To the OP, if I could get a complete do-over, I would research HOT niche markets with a demand. Created a compelling opt-in offer ( like a ebook with my aff links and blog address inside, maybe giving a basic training overview & essential tools) and pass visitors thru to a quality offer with a reputable marketer, not some shiny object offer.

They don't buy, load up the autoresponder and send X number of follow ups, which is where I believe the bulk of income rests.

Building trust and credibility without having emassed success, seems a big problem for me, it keeps me from being, or becoming the authority.

But, not every football coach that has led his team to a SuperBowl victory actually played football, but rather are visionaries that understood the mechanics of how a team working together can prevail!

I think I just answered my own question... Nobody succeeds alone.

Doing this shit gets lonely, and leaves the most talented of thinker to overthink, and over complicate the simplicity of marketing online. While others just run blind, fall, and get back up hopeful they'll reach the end zone on their next run...

And many have long surpassed my current earnings, doing exactly that...running blind. Learning as they go of course, no insult to taking action.

Meanwhile, I always end up back here. I know what tools I need, I have a massive arsenal of several blueprints I've drawn up for creating my own books, training, and digital products... And still, can't stay committed, as I think; something's missing!

In the now, I am contemplating selling my jon boat, and investing it all into ppc, 2-3 landing pages (with opt-ins of course), re-instate my Aweber account, maybe buy a couple more domains (have 14 now), and re-instate my hhosting account. Then find 1-2 high end, highly targeted products like; Eben Pagan's soon to be live "Digital ProductBlueprint" which is rumored to be sold for $1197, 40% aff payouts, 10% sub aff payouts, or affiliates can earn just under $480 per sale, and roughly $118 per sub-aff sale. It's gotta beat getting another job at this point!

And, after my last offline gig, I am becoming more, and more convinced what I know offline holds no value anymore...

And, writing, as you say is the 'core' of every online success!

While, I can admit my humility publicly here on WF, maybe like the post above, where she states; being concerned or even affraid of traffic or dealing with customers...idk!

Meanwhile, still haven't replaced my laptop from the last time I gave up, it accidently hit a wall, sad but true...this stuff can make a sane person crazy!

Yes. Focus. But that can be vague.

In any business, you choose what you want to do and do it. "Make money" is NOT a valid choice. Pick and method and STICK TO IT!

Also, learn paid traffic. Bing and Google. Seriously, free traffic is a siren song that leaves you crashed on the rocks. When I started out, I wouldn't even consider paying for traffic, I wanted to do it the "FREE" way that people said could be done. BS.

If you are not willing to pay for traffic to even test out offers, get out of this business. You will never succeed.

And trying to SEO your offer onto the first page of google? Maybe when you have some skills, but for starting out, don't do it.

    So...

Focus, Paid Traffic, and specify what your goals are in the short tern and the long tern.

@art72 - Glad you found it useful.

@OliviasDad - Colin Theriot built his entire group of 14,000 rabid fans for free.

It's slow going for certain, but it can be done.

It's the whole Growth Hacking Concept.

AirBNB spent Zero to grow that bad boy.

    Uber - nada

    Udemy....JV affiliate style growth.

You can do it, but understand how and expect the slow going for a while.

Just look at some of the A-Holes on Youtube that are just KILLING it.

Pewdiepie....that dude made like $4 or $5 million dollars last year. Know what he does?

    Look it up.

Or how about "Unwrapping Eggs" on Youtube (look how many views that crap has gotten).

Those people are making money and none of them are doing any selling...

    They're not doing WSO's....

    They're not hanging' out here.

    They're doing stuff.

I thought about that and tried making money in a different way.

    I was like..

"What can I do to make money if all I got was just one view?"

    Did it....killed it.

Make a 5 figure payday from 2 total views.

It's just smart work and consistent effort.

    Success really does leave clues.

So hope that helps and wish you the best.
