The Power of One Hour a Week

Hey guys!

So for the past 6/8 months I have been experimenting with giving away 1 hour of my time a week in order to help others.

And this has helped me tremendously when it comes to growing my business and becoming an expert.

We started implementing a weekly free SEO Q&A with one of my companies and the results have been amazing (kudos to my partner Bradley for the idea here).

So I decided to copy the model and do the same but in the Spanish niche, to prove the concept once again.

And the results continue to amaze me.

On both cases, the signup rates have increased enormously and we have carved out an space in a heavily competitive industry (such as SEO trainig).

And the sales have multiplied, of course.

And this is only by dedicating 1 hour a week to give away our knowledge, our experience and the tools that give us results.

Full disclosure, this is also a way of giving back and my plan to increase the output from 2 hours to 5 hours a week.

And I'm planning into going full podcast at some point too.

I've also seen the biggest marketers in the world doing this as well.

Guys I admire like Ryan Deiss, Andy Frisella or Mike Dillard with their podcasts, for example.

Where they give away tons and tons of value, feature the most prominent personalities in their space.

If they do it, why wouldn't we do it as well?

The question that I'd like to put here for the weekend is:

- How can you give back to your audience 1 hour a week?

In my case has been SEO Q&As via Google Hangouts.

And also writing valuable posts in groups and forums.

And sharing value with my list too.

How can you do the same for your potential clients or leads?

How can you start giving away 1 hour of your week initially, to teach, to inspire and to help others achieve their results?

What can you do right now to start giving away?

I think the keyword here is "Give away"

Because we don't expect any results, thus they come nonetheless.

Nice post and very helpful to the newbies.

It is important to remember that big companies and small companies often make a loss of some amount in order to run a promotion - just so they can give incredible value - because it adds massively to their credit and trustworthiness.

"Any good you do is to the benefit of yourself - whether you realize it or not"

That is the truth of the matter, and that is reflected in your post.

It is good to hear than you have learnt this through experience (the best way to truly learn any truth), thanks for sharing your gain with the forum.

I wish you all the best in your ventures,
    Peace.

I always thought the 1 hour work week was solely created to transform the hearts and minds of the everyday working man, and convincing them to work less and less until they are working no more than 1 hour lol.

Nice to know there are numerous ways to interpret that slogan. I myself used to think that work was a curse and the goal was to make as much money as possible in the least amount of time. I now know that work is not a curse, but a blessing. At least when you are doing something that you are passionate about and are not breaking your back with hard manual labour.

Definitely a good practice. I have postponed creating a digital "How to" ebook for some time, simply to ensure the content, benefits, and value provide viable solutions to my (future) target audience.

When I first considered writing the book (more over a complete eCourse) - I was all about the math, and what my return on my investments of time & energy might be worth?

However, I recently decided to make this work 100% FREE, and use it to build credibility, trust, and to hopefully receive a positive response from my subscribers.

By researching and including a ton of value (as opposed to just rehashing an old plr ebook) - I can then offer a video course on the backend, I believe; reciprocation holds a much higher value. Give first, build trust, and let the reader/subscriber reciprocate, which in turn equals more sales, more affiliate commissions. Win/win.

By encouraging and hopefuly inspiring readers to share the ebook, and become affiliates to the paid video eCourse.

While I know I'm not the first to use this 'give & receive' methodology, I am a firm believer if you offer quality, provide good material, and allow subs to benefit too....everybody wins!

As far as 'giving back' I have always prided myself on Napoleon Hill's statement; "Always give more than what you are being paid for."

It worked in the 1920's and it works today!
