How to get people promoting my products?

I know everyone ask this question.. but what affiliates want??

I know..huge commision aso but how people like frank kern, mike filsame aso are getting 1000 of affilates to promote their products?? I never seen anyone of them in one forum calling "please promote my product"..

So is there a secret but another then a huge mailinglist??

    Seriously?

    In all honesty people trust them and believe what they say and as such want to buy their products.

    Personally I look for products on an objective case-by-case basis.

    Usefulness is the main factor I fork out the plastic and I think I'd not be all alone in this reasoning.

    Good, high quality product, no short cuts.

    Yes, and I believe that it would have taken them quite a while to establish a decent number of affiliates. If they have good solid products and they sell well leading to their affiliates making money, they will likely promote future products. Add more affil.iates each time and it wouldn't take long until you have an army of active affiliates.

    Good quality products and customer service is what you need.

    The most important of all, is a high-converting product with a nice payout. If you have a product that converts very well and has a nice payout for the affs, the affs will be definitely interested in it.

    Some affiliate material, banners, landing pages, ppc keywords and similar stuff would be also helpful for the affiliates.

    A good way to get affs, would be to go IM forums such as DP and here, and make a post about your product, get some screenshots of the conversion rate in the post.

    Of course, always have an opt-in form in the affiliate page of your site, so that the affs can opt-in, and you'll be able to mail them for future launches you have.

      Sure clickbank...but i have some problems to list my site there because i´m working with butterflymarketing script and there is a member area protection and they dont approve my listing.

        Well you always pre-test. If you're serious about having a proper product out there, you need to do some pretesting to make sure it converts, otherwise, how would you know it converts?

    Other than what has already been suggested, you should provide GREAT AFFILIATE TOOLS.

    When I look for affiliate products to promote, if there aren't some great tools for me to use to promote, I won't promote.

    #1 Very nice looking banners, and plenty of them, different sizes, etc.
    #2 Adwords keywords/ads suggestions
    #3 Text/Email templates/sales copy, that describe your product well.

    (I know I'm forgetting a bunch, but those are three priority tools off the top of my head)

    The more promotional tools that you can provide your affiliates, the better you will do.

      How to Get Affiliates..

      1. Build a List.
      2. Build a relationship with that list
      3. Create Product
      4. Sell that product to your list
      5. Give your list the opportunity to promote the product.

      (rinse and repeat)

      That is the order, as you continue to grow a stronger list, you will have the snowball effect for your business. The more people who are on your list, the more people will be affiliates.

      Now, As you continue to grow your affiliate database, you can hold contests, or givaways for the top affiliates. If you are going to launch another product down the road, contact your top affiliates and support them...i.e promotional webinars, emails, banners, capture pages..whatever they need.

      If you help bring value to your top affiliates, their list will become your list...

        Sure Jeff.. but last time i tryed to build a new list everything goes wrong.. i´m frustrated because last time nothing works since i want to bring my new product out.. lost my old list because of problems with my old host and now i have to start at the beginning...

        as i wrote..since i try to sell my own product everything goes wrong..

      I report them as spam.

      Meanwhile, the guy who wrote his own email might actually sell me something.

      So I look at all those great tools, and then I don't use them. But I'm glad they're offered, because it means a lot of my competition is going to end up in spam folders...

        Good strategie... thanks for this because i´ll use it for my affilate promotion and rewrite the mails with my own words.. but i´ll give it away for promotion material, even when noone will use.

    You could have 2 index pages (sales pages) - index.html & index2.html. One for CB and one for PDC.

    Also, it is recommended that you have different sales pages for your JV partners, especially if you give them higher percentage than to the average affiliate + you can personalize it, e.g. "Exclusively for the subscribers of X.Y".

    Like Jack Bastide said, you need to spend a good amount of time forming relationships with other marketers.

    Visit and comment on their blogs often, and when you leave a comment make sure you add value to their blog in each comment you leave.

    Start a conversation with them on Twitter, make the subject of the coversation non business related.

    Buy, or promote one of their products to your list. I'm sure if you've promoted and made some sales of their product, and helped build their list, they will be much more likely to promote your product for you, provided your product is up to scratch that is.

    It's all about relationships, you're going to have to take quite a while to get to know other marketers, and make them get to know who you are first.

    Patrick,

    Listen to Jack and my good friend Paul Lear. Then, you need to think about getting affiliates just like you would offline sales people that would sell your physical product.

    Think about what it would take a car manufacturer just starting out to attract car salesmen to sell for them... the same goes for online affiliates.

    1. The product better be good, and cause little if any refunds,
    2. There should be a demand in the marketplace and also
    3. It should be very easy to sell... lots of other stuff too.

    But remember, affiliates spend a lot of time and energy building
    relationships with end users and they love them too.

    Product owners have got to build those same kind of I love these
    guys and gals relationships beforehand.

    What you have to do to get it approved by clickbank or what I did, was copy the sales page,thankyou page and the download page all on different links, it has to be a working site (took me days as I kept forgetting to put in the right links in) and as soon as it is approved you just need to change the site address and downloadpage in clickbank. There is plenty of info for this inside the script forum.

        1. you need a good product (you might say its good, but if you were a customer, would you buy it)
        2. you need a great landing page (it should look good and convert better) maybe test it and prove your conversion rates.
        3. maybe you could find a partner with experience publishing and selling products
        4. ever try doing a press release?

    Most people here are missing the answer. The big guys were small guys... You think they just magically had a big list?

    Nope. They built relationships. They chatted on forums. They went out to get coffee with local guys. They flew to other parts of the country to just have lunch with someone. They jumped on the phone and talked to a real person about there person (even if that means paying for consulting).

    Like with most businesses, you can catapult your success by networking/building relationships.

    I put this in another thread, but it's like dating. What would you do if you were trying to take a girl out on a date that you've never talked to? How would you get her attention?
