Hi Everybody,

Me again with another newbie question :-)

How do you stand out from your competitors? Is it even relevant to be different in affiliate marketing? I'm having a hard time to figure out a way to be different and not just be another "me too", but I have no idea how to be perceived as different from competitors.

Be the same in recognizability, but make a difference in price, service, quality or whatever your niche expects from a new product.

Create or have created your own product leading into your affiliate promotion. Give your prospect a reason to purchase. Don't just do what 97% of people and that is just pitch their link!

I mean like yeah I'm going to work with you...

Give me a reason to. Why should I pick you and not one of the other 10,000 affiliates to buy from.

You can really increase your conversions this way and you won't drive yourself into the ground desperately looking to make sale

Its tough in a niche like MMO.Especially, when the standard protocol for most in this Niche is to just email the hell out of their List with offer after offer , day in and day out.

There is nothing wrong with emailing everyday but you need to separate yourself if you want others to keep opening your emails and engaging with them.

So this is where you can standout. Let your personality shine in these emails. Don't just market products.

Tell stories about how your day is going. Be goofy. humerus, and make it more about just Marketing.

Provide "infotainment" as well as providing some free stuff that really gives value.

Make it so every time they see your email laying in their Inbox they are thinking "I have to see what the hell Alex has got in store for me today "

Robert is right. Too many people try to throw mud against the wall to see what sticks. To make the churn and burn method work, you need an awful lot of mud. Problem is, there isn't enough mud, so when you smell your fingers, you find that what your throwing is something else entirely.

I was wondering if you have any personal experience in what you're selling, and if you do, can you add your story - that will be unique, that will make you different.

You being you. You talking about your struggles and how you got over them.

I don't think it's tough at all to differentiate yourself.

Let's say you're promoting Rich Jerk.

So instead of just blasting your list like everyone else, saying, "Hey! Click through my link and buy, will ya? I'll give you this stuffed teddy bear nobody really wanted as a bonus!"...

...why not add a 3-video series of relevant marketing strategies BEFORE you give them the buy link?

Give them YOUR twist, your approach to applying this product (or group of products as the case may be.)

Show them your face. Let them hear your voice. Demonstrate why you are the right person for them to buy from...not just because they'll be getting yet another box they'll never unwrap.

And this is a really, really basic idea.

Be consistent. Don't jump around, a web designer one week, a video marketer the next...and a PLR provider the week after that. Get known for something. Typically takes 90 days to begin getting known as the person to talk to about whatever it is you're offering.

    This is very simple......

    LET YOUR PERSONALITY SHINE THROUGH

The problem with most people is that they are so busy trying to be like everybody else

    BE YOURSELF

Love him or hate him, the reason why the media is giving millions of dollars' worth of free coverage to Donald Trump is because he's an LOL personality....

He LIVES OUT LOUD. He gets exposure, the media gets ratings. Win/Win solution.

    *YOU* are your brand

If you are able to WRAP YOUR MIND around that...

    You will WIN!

    Tired of losing?

Tired of feeling that you're not living your life to its fullest potential?

    BE YOURSELF

    BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF

    and LIVE OUT LOUD.

Henry D Thoreau wrote that most people live lives of quiet desperation....

    Why?

They try to be someone else.

    Stop it already.

    BE YOURSELF

and do what you were put on this planet to do...

You were BORN TO WIN ... if only you allowed yourself to.

    How to be different?

Exploit the 5 Ps of marketing--product, price, placement, promotions & profit--to your advantage. You're better, exclusive, bigger, smaller, diversified, compact, cheaper, expensive, quicker, slower etc compared with the rest.

Be different in any of those Ps as long as it gives you the edge against your competitors.

Let's add a 6th P for people--your customers. (How are you different when you extend customer service and support?)

Create your own positioning--your exclusivity or claim-to-fame.

You're right it is tricky to know where, how and what to start.
I guess you need to ask yourself what brought you here in the first place.
If you just want to make money(and I am not saying you are) then the journey will be one of distaste in the end.
You have to have an interest or eventually find an interest.
    Here is what you do:
You have already realized that you want to MMO.-That's a given
Now you need to just keep looking for what interests you. What info do you have that could help others? And then look into that niche. Sometimes you will have to do that a couple of times.
Just remember that in all that you will journey through, there is a time for asking and a time for finding. Right now you are doing some asking. Keep searching you will figure it out. Don't give up-keep going!
Anyone can sell anything and some do it way better than others.
But liking what you do will eventually trump everything. Just make a start-Hope this helps Jennifer
And then you will stand apart-because no one is the same anyway-but your personality will shine through.
