All themes have this feature, it is nothing new. You download the image and put it in your library, then set it from there. (make sure you have the rights to use the image) I would never link an image to one of my posts from a third party like flikr. Exception being amazon product images. It is just so much easier to manage by putting the images in your library

Here is a quicker way. go to flickr and right click on the image you want. Select "copy image address".

Now Go to WP and add media.

Head click upload file then "select files"

It will open up file explore just paste the image address you just copied. The image will be uploaded to your website and it will also be selected already.

Apart from already suggested, you could also use a free Flickr plugin from the WP plugin database.

Yes ,but the thing is in order to have the right to use the flickr images (all of them) you must link the image back to the image page on their site ,corect me if I am wrong ,choosing add media in the featured image doesn't give me the option to change the link of the image ,that was my problem. And I agree with you on the subject of linking my images from a third party but I don't have money to buy nice images right now

You can simply link back to the image by clicking on the Edit link on the image there is an option in "DISPLAY SETTINGS" of the image which says "Link To" by default its on "Media File" change it to "Custom URL" and insert the link back there. Its so simple
