How to make a site approved for Amazon affiliate program?

Hello,

I would just like to make a quick enquiry as to how to make a site acceptable for the Amazon affiliate/ partnership program (or whatever they call it). I want to try different tactics over the next few weeks so it will be partially experimental.

I just want to make sure that I have access to the API! I will most likely be spending the next few weeks or so developing locally on visual studio.

If there is anyone who can give a clear and concise answer to what they require (so that I can submit a domain) then that would be brilliant. It is just the minimum standard to be accepted that I would want.

Unique content that is informative - it is fairly easy to get approved by Amazon. If you set up a site with 5 to 10 informative posts, 500 words or more in length you should be fine.

Ok, that sounds doable. I was under the impression that people were supposed to have a certain amount of incoming traffic as well. Is there any truth to that?

Obviously. People ask in forums to enquire about peoples experiences.

You don't have to report any traffic.

You don't even need 5 pages.

        Depends on what you're selling.

You do need to get a sale within a time frame, or you will have to reapply.

Thank you - I am getting some really useful tips here. Do you have an idea of what that time frame would be? Are you talking weeks, months or years?

I think it's like 6 months. If you can't make a sale by then I think they think you need to rethink what you are doing. lol

think my amazon account going to close ...6 months no sales yet.

even a single sale I never get lol ..perhaps I never do must promotion etc...

I wonder if close as usual need to reapply again but the question is will be hard as you never get a single sale within 6 months this time ....need to apply reopen the account ...don't know they will or not.

You did not ask for experiences, what you asked was "If there is anyone who can give a clear and concise answer to what they require (so that I can submit a domain) then that would be brilliant'

And what Salegurus gave you was the best answer. But, if you prefer less than qualified speculative answers then we wish you the best of luck.

          Here's another question for you...

What do you think Amazon's response would be if they found you doing something seriously wrong, and your defense was "someone in a forum said it was okay?"

I can tell you from experience that the folks at Amazon Associates will gladly work with you to make sure you comply with their policies, and at this stage, they are usually quite friendly.

Go to the source for compliance issues...

The answers that I wanted were not on the site!

People have reasons for doing what they do and the way in which they do them. Those reasons may not be known to you. The question I asked has been answered. I asked here for a reason.

He did not give an answer at all. There was no information pertaining to what I needed to know on the page that link relates to (nor on any other page on Amazon). Whoever they are they seem to be more interested in playing silly games than being of use to anyone.

There are clear and concise answers on this page related to peoples experiences. Some of the answers here are irrelevant.

As mentioned it is not hard to get a site accepted for the Amazon Associates program but John is right where compliance is concerned, it is always advisable to go directly to Amazon and ask them directly and then keep that answer on file.

It is also perfectly acceptable to post on a forum for an overall opinion however it is just that an opinion and should be taken as such.

In this case it is a pretty simple question the OP asked

You need to make sure you write quality review not fake review. Amazon has been very strict recently on fake reviews. Also, make sure you write several content not just a few.

Amazon is easily to get approved than Google adsense, I don't see why people cannot get approved. Unless you got banned before.

Think of creating quality content. You can monetize later down the road with amazon but create a blog around a niche you most likely enjoy and passionate about. This will help with contenting creating and a more long-term strategy.

A product is a product. You don't need Amazon. Create a site approved for Clickbank or some other affiliate marketplace. Become a master marketer online and you won't have to ask questions like this. Real talk. Sounds like you're *afraid* that they might reject you.

Who cares? You don't need them.

Don't get your knickers in a twist.

I covered that possibility when I advised you to ask Amazon for clarification.

If you'd rather take random advice from anonymous posters on this forum, that's your choice. Have at it, and good luck - I think you'll need it.
