What sort of products sell irrespective of niche?

And is sort of an impulse buy. It doesn't cost much and people are not too bothered about reading reviews about before purchase.

Anything you'll find on the shelves next to the cash register at a retail store.

I agree with James. Impulse buys are the types of things that you'll probably not be able to compete with selling online.

Because folks buy these things on the spur of the moment, on sudden impulse when they see them, you can't duplicate that kind of immediate gratification if you have to ship some physical product to a physical place.

In IM you have to pick your battles and what you're asking about, at least in most cases, is not a fight for IMers. Typically, digital products are not something that appeal to everyone. They are most often very "niched" and address specific topic that won't appeal to everyone.

Actually, there's plenty of money to be made online in impulse buys, though it doesn't really meet the OP's "regardless of niche" test. Call them what you want, but cross-sells, accessories and impulse buys are all over the internet and with good reason. But they do need to be targeted. I wouldn't put pitch cell phone accessories on a page about tropical fish, for example. And whether or not people read the reviews (and I bet they still at least look at them if they're available!), I'd want them to be quality products.

I'd also suggest that linking to cheap products that are bought impulsively can be a great way to introduce people to your business and what it offers as well as give people a low-risk chance to buy from you. This can be really useful when reaching out to new people, especially in places like social media where viral posts can easily go way outside of your normal network. And once someone has a positive experience buying something from you, that second sale (perhaps one that's less of an impulse buy) is that much easier.

Online? I can't think of anything because its too easy to just open a tab and search for reviews. Maybe find stuff that's popular for buy in one click on amazon.
