I prefer Macromedia Dreamweaver. It is very handy and you are easily able to create rich content with it.

The problem with using wysiwyg is that all your sites will look the same as everyone elses. If you don't mind that, then I reckon XSitePro is your best bet.

Is dreamweaver wysiwyg? I am deciding between homestead, xsitepro, and another one called artisteer.com. homestead because they have over 2000 templates, xsitepro seems good, only 200 templates, artisteer is workable with joomla and that is what i have been using a programmer for. I need to start doing this myself due to time and money. hope that gives you a little more insight.

Definitely Dreamweaver.

Don't handicap your self with fancy solutions that do not provide you professional level control.

I would not be caught dead without a copy of dreamwever... but you may also want to have a copy of xsitepro as a secondary for its specialty features.

If you want a 100% free open-source editor that is easy to use - try NVU

It really depends on you and your skill set. If you have money and basic
knowledge of web design, then Dreamweaver is probably you're best
option. If you have neither of those, however...

...Then I would highly recommend Web Easy.

If you're on a budget, use NVU. If you have the cash, grab Dreamweaver. Simple as that in my opinion

I've been using Kompozer lately, it's like NVU but I think easier. Mostly I use xsite pro though.

Hello,

Dreamweaver is not a wysiwyg editor, Dreamweaver has become more WYSIWYG in the most recent incarnation, but it is still not what you would call a WYSIWYG.

If your going to count on it to do what you want you will be in for a shock they did not add the access to the code just for the heck of it you will still need to edit the code to get things to proper locations how you like them, when you view the site in a browser.

I have opened up templates in dreamweaver and it messed them up bad. If using dreamweaver I design in photoshop then open in dreamweaver but still I can code better in note pad the dreamweavers wysiwyg (ya right)

I would suggest you learn to code from note pad. Cut and past code from a open source website design and or a work book on web design. You will learn fast this way.

Try NVU it is no cost, open source but they seemed to stop working on it, if you want you can try Kompozer it is an advanced (being worked on) copy of NVU.

You might want to check out WYSIWYG Web Builder just as it says WYSIWYG Web Builder

What ever you use it won't hurt to learn to code by hand also.

Hope that helps

Richard

You could try Serif WebPlusX2. It has limitations, but it's as near wysiwyg as possible.
