Article Marketing is DEAD?

Is anyone still having phenomenal success with article marketing? I know I read alot of articles from Ezine that help but I also notice that a hell of alot of them were waaaaayyyyyyyy back years ago. Now thats good and bad..its good because their links an anchor text are still there but where it can be bad is if the info is still relevant and if the technique of aticle marketing still works. What you think?????

You mean you sent people directly to your affiliate link using articles and you had little or now conversions?

I think volume and persistence is the key to article marketing. Too little of either and you will see little results.

    I don't think it's dead at all.

It's down to the keywords and competition mainly I think but also what you do with the article after it is published.

If it gets published and then just leave it you will get a few clicks on your link. If after it is published you take the link for the article and bookmark it at as many sites as you can (not all at once of course) there is a good chance that if you have chosen your keywords well, you will get hundreds of clicks that depends of course on if your article was interesting enough and your bio has a good call to action to find out more.

It definitely does work but I think most people usually come to the conclusion that it's much better to promote your own site.

When you spot your article hidden in a mass of adsense and other peoples links, you do start to think why am I promoting their site and not my own.

But for quick results it's certainly effective.

As far as Google and other search engines depend on text to produce search results, articles will surely be your best marketing weapon.

Don't follow the crowd... aim to create good quality content, people want to read and that are keyword rich. Aim to build an authority website as your primary goal. Build backlinks to your articles, be consistent and publish on a regular basis.. even if it's just 2-3 a week, just keep at it so that your audience knows what to expect from you.

There is so much competition out there right now and the best way to stand out from the crowd is to write articles that connect to your audience, don't just go out there throwing out just any text.

    my two cents

Article marketing is absolutely dead. It died along with the Edsel. It has
breathed its last breath and the only thing it's now good for is planting with
      your tulips in the backyard.

My suggestion would be to give up any ideas of making any money with
      article marketing.

Article Marketing is far from dead... As I predicted last year many new advances and new technologies and changes would be coming and some of those have already come. The way you do article marketing and the many tools that are used have changed and some even improved upon.

Many seem to think all they need to do is write some articles and post them to article directories and wait for the flood of traffic to come rolling in. This is NOT how things work in the real world and never will work that way. As with anything you do you must be willing to put in a great effort, time, and hard work.

There is a gold mine right here, all free information and even step by step plans to help you along.. There are even plans here that can help you get started that can be done 100% for free with no cost at all..

Information posted by myself, keith, jay, and peter - You will not find a more comprehensive thread about article marketing - http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Take your time and read the entire thread...

Article Marketing is not dead and will never be dead.

      Content rule the world...

Sure there are a ton more people doing it than years ago but that just means it is working and you should find your own little space to dominate!

If traditional article marketing is dead then it's in the way to be replaced by " social article marketing". Sites like squidoo, ehow, hubpage, 43things are all forms of article marketing but in a more social way with more user interaction.

ditto. I know it works because i have a personal friend who is making a nice living this way. He is now moving on to more internet marketing ventures to become even more successful, but it's certainly a good way to start if you have no money to invest and you have learned how to do it correctly.

    What is Article Marketing?

Article marketing is a way to promote your website and product using article hosted on article directory, and in the hope of get pickup & mass distribution to other websites, or simply just to rank high in search engine and "steal" search traffic.

How do you do article marketing?

A good article marketer must know this:

    1. Where to get traffic, what keyword to use
    2. How to do onpage optimization for the article
    3. How to use AIDA formula to maximize click-through and generate sales
    4. How to do backlinks and offpage optimization

If you know these elements, you can get 100 of thousands visitors just from 1 article!

    How to pick keyword?

    1. You need to do keyword research, find searches no less than 3,000 with the lowest competition you can get, I would target any keyword with 50K exact match or less, and allintitle match of 10K or less.

    2. Pick 3 keywords per article that matches this criteria and are closely related, so I can write 1 article and optimize for 3 keywords.

How to do on page optimization?

Put your main targeted keyword on these areas:

Title, 1st Paragraph, middle Paragrah, Last Paragraph

Put your other 2 keywords on any 2 of the above mention areas.

This is suitable for 400+ words article, for more word article might need to add more keywords in the paragraphs.

    What is AIDA formula?

    1. A - Attention: Attention grabbing header and opening.
    2. I - Interest: Your article must lead to reader's interest to know more.
    3. D - Desire: The more your reader's read, the more they desire and want your product or services.
    4. A - Action: Put call to action like: "visit us", "click here", "Get it Now" in your last paragraph.

A good article must be able to promote your click-through to your site to want more information, to get your service or product, or just to know you better!

    What is Back links?

Backlinking is a term where you put a from other website and link back to your website / article, with the proper keyword as anchor text, so that your article will rank for your desired keyword.

You need high PR backlinks like Angela & Paul Back links, Steve's Backlink Goldmine or My own Nuclear Link Booster Collection.

You can also look for more backlinks yourself by looking at your competitor backlinks, and reverse engineer where they put their links.

How many article do I need to get massive traffic?

Skillful marketer will only need one, for beginner, I always recommend they do 100 articles before expecting much traffic! That is because they may mess up in one of the step above, and end up with few visitors from the article, that's where you need a lot of articles....

If article marketing is dead than we are all in a heap of trouble! It is far from dead and keep in mind that article marketing also relates to articles on your own website.

If you write good solid content for your website and include good keywords in the title tags of those pages you will find that you get a lot of traffic just through your website. If you have a site with 30 good articles on it that are all keyword rich than there is a good chance a few of those articles will bring you in some traffic straight to your site.

Further if you have 30 articles on article directories and you use good keyword rich titles you will find you get some good traffic there. Just to point out that 30 is not the magic number by any means! There is no magic number it just takes persistent effort!

Further you need to consider promoting a couple individual articles after submitting them. That means do social bookmarking on them or build backlinks to them using any of the backlink programs you can find in a WSO and link directly into the article itself.

With consistent effort and action article marketing can be a gold mine for you and your business!

I think that part of the problem lies in the "over the top" attention to SEO and Keywords and Optimization, and that simply leads to overload for most people. Too many people try to focus on the SEO when they don't have any experience doing it, and it becomes such a large workload when you're starting out that you just give up.

Next thing you know, the word starts spilling out that "Article Marketing is Dead" and it becomes a topic of hot debate. The fact is it does work, but it takes time and patience.

Be consistent in writing regularly (not often necessarily, just regularly). Write for real. That may sound odd, but what it means is that you should write about something that you are passionate about, and don't worry about SEO... at least not yet. Write a genuine article about whatever your topic or product is. Make sure to explain why you like this product/topic. Give your opinion, be personable and genuine, not the "over the top, too much hype" type! By writing this "real" article, people who read it will connect to the content, and by extension, to you. It becomes relatable, and therefore memorable.

Plus, by not worrying about SEO right away, you avoid your article becoming the same article that everyone else has posted online. If everybody optimizes for the exact same keywords using the exact same guidelines, the end products will be very familiar. You want to stand out, be different, and invoke something in your audience. At this point you can tweak the SEO on your article a little, but make sure to keep it simple and basic.

Do this consistently, and you will reap the rewards to be had from article marketing. Make that connection with readers, and whatever you lose by not obsessing over SEO, you'll gain in the audience that you do connect with. Make that connection with readers, and they become your targeted, hot leads. They make up the captive and attentive audience you need to be successful online. They relate and connect to what you've written, and want to know more about you... and they will be open to hearing what you may have to offer, because you've begun to establish a trust and respect you need to be successful online.

Sorry for rambling, but hope it inspires a few to engage in article marketing, it does work, and if you put the effort in to make it special, you'll be a better marketer for it overall. I know this isn't very "technical" advice on article marketing, but I strongly believe that mindset and approach to article marketing makes a huge difference in the rate of success or failure.

    Make it a great day!
